About Level Liquidity
\n
Level Liquidity is an automated market maker on US-regulated prediction markets. We price and quote markets around the clock, and we’ve been trading live since early 2026. Our goal is to become the leading market maker in prediction markets.
\n
This is our first engineering hire.
\n
\n
About the role
\n
You’ll own everything that isn’t trading strategy: infrastructure, data pipelines, monitoring, CI, tooling, and deploy readiness. The goal is a platform that runs reliably without the founder’s attention, so strategy gets the focus it needs.
\n
You’ll be the sole engineer, working directly with the founder. Pricing and strategy stay with the founder, and production deploys are run by the founder after you’ve prepared and verified them. You’ll have full access to the codebase and to our non-trading infrastructure.
\n
Your first 30 days are spent hardening our infrastructure and testing environment.
\n
We meet weekly to review progress and priorities. This is a 40-hour-per-week, ongoing engagement with the potential to convert to full-time employment.
\n
\n
Who you are
\n
You’ve been responsible for a production system that other people depended on, and you’ve been the one who got the call when it broke.
\n
You verify before you conclude. You’re comfortable saying you haven’t confirmed something yet, and you’d rather be slow and right than fast and wrong.
\n
You document as you go, and you can explain technical work clearly to someone who isn’t an engineer.
\n
You use AI tools well, which means you check what they produce.
\n
\n
Requirements
\n
- \n
- Production Linux: systemd, cron, journald, resource diagnosis, multi-host SSH workflows
- Python for pipelines and services, including working in large existing codebases
- Strong SQL, ideally SQLite
- AWS fundamentals: EC2, object storage, security groups
- CI and testing: GitHub Actions, pytest, pre-commit
- Working knowledge of statistics

What you’ll do
\n

- Operate and harden our Linux hosts: services, scheduling, alerting, backups
- Own the nightly data pipeline and warehouse, including reconciliation against exchange records
- Lead incident diagnosis and write-ups
- Prepare and verify every production deploy, including rollback plans
- Maintain CI and the test suite, and complete our replay harness and deploy tooling

How to apply
\n
Email james@levelliquidity.com with the subject line “Platform & Data Engineer.” Include your resume and short answers to the following:
\n
- \n
- Describe a production system you were responsible for that other people depended on. What failed, how did you find out, and what did you change afterward?
- Imagine taking over a trading platform built and run by one person: a few Linux hosts on AWS, a trading host writing continuously to SQLite, a batch host for reporting, and a nightly pipeline that reconciles against the exchange and loads a warehouse. What would you look at first, and what would concern you most?
