Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Java Architect with strong expertise in enterprise Java development and IBM technologies, including J2EE, EJB, IBM Rational Application Developer (RAD), WebSphere Application Server, DB2, and IBM MQSeries.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience designing, developing, maintaining, tuning, and supporting complex enterprise applications within an IBM development environment. The role requires strong technical architecture skills along with hands-on experience supporting large-scale applications throughout their lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, maintain, and support complex enterprise Java/J2EE applications.
• Develop and maintain applications using EJB, JDBC, JSP, XML, and related J2EE technologies.
• Perform application architecture and technical design for enterprise systems.
• Develop Java applications using IBM Rational Application Developer (RAD).
• Deploy and support Java applications on IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS).
• Design and work with DB2 databases and enterprise data structures.
• Develop, define, query, and maintain XML schemas.
• Support automated XML schema generation and integration processes.
• Design and implement application components that interact with DB2 databases.
• Perform application and database performance tuning and optimization.
• Analyze application bottlenecks and recommend improvements to improve scalability and reliability.
• Design and maintain messaging solutions using IBM MQSeries.
• Troubleshoot application, middleware, database, and messaging issues.
• Support application integration across enterprise systems.
• Develop technical documentation, architecture specifications, and system design documents.
• Collaborate with developers, database administrators, infrastructure teams, business analysts, and end users.
• Provide technical guidance and support throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Participate in application testing, deployment, maintenance, and production support activities.
• Provide end-user support and resolve complex technical issues.
• Ensure applications follow enterprise architecture, development, security, and performance standards.

Required Qualifications

• 84+ months of experience with J2EE technologies, including:
  • EJB
  • JDBC
  • JSP
  • XML
• 84+ months of experience with Java programming in an IBM development environment using IBM Rational Application Developer (RAD).
• 84+ months of experience deploying Java applications to IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS).
• 84+ months of experience working with IBM DB2 databases.
• 84+ months of experience working with XML schemas, including:
  • Schema definition
  • Schema querying
  • Automated schema generation
• 60+ months of experience performing application performance tuning, particularly applications interacting with databases.
• 60+ months of experience with IBM MQSeries.
• 60+ months of experience working within an organization responsible for the technical design, development, maintenance, and end-user support of complex systems.
