Day-in-the-Life & Key Responsibilities
\n
- \n
- Harness & Electrical Integration: Install, integrate, test, and repair automotive-grade wiring harnesses, power distribution units (PDUs), fuses, relays, connectors, and power/signal architectures across sensor, compute, and actuation modules.
- Mechanical Support: Perform basic mechanical assembly tasks directly related to electrical integration, including mounting sensors/actuators, installing brackets, routing harnesses, and securing connectors on vehicles.
- Diagnostics & Troubleshooting: Diagnose, isolate, and repair electrical faults, shorts, wiring errors, and intermittent continuity issues on prototype and production vehicles using multimeters, oscilloscopes, and hand tools.
- Schematics & CAD Consultation: Read and interpret complex electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and harness drawings. Utilize basic 3D CAD (SolidWorks) to view, rotate, and reference spatial assembly models.
- Documentation & Cross-Functional Collaboration: Document builds, test outcomes, paper redlines, and issue resolutions using Google Suite and PLM/document control tools while working alongside mechanical and software engineering teams.

Target Experience & Qualifications:
\n
- \n
- Experience Level: 3+ years of hands-on experience in automotive, aerospace/avionics, robotics, motorsports, or prototyping environments.
- Core Competencies: Experience reading electrical schematics/wiring diagrams; experience working in hand crimping, pinning connectors, soldering, wire harness fabrication (form board), and circuit continuity testing.
- Target Backgrounds & Dealerships: Candidates with hands-on shop experience from automotive dealerships (e.g., Honda, Mercedes, Ford), independent repair garages, prototype/R&D shops, custom wiring shops, robotics, or aerospace.
- Target Job Titles: Wire Harness Technician, Electrical Technician, Automotive Technician, Prototype/R&D Technician, Integration Technician, Mechanical Build Technician.
- Tool & Equipment Proficiency: Proficiency with crimping tools, torque wrenches, multimeters, continuity testers, and oscilloscopes.
- Education Trade-Off: Associate degree or technical certification in Electrical/Electronics/Automotive Technology is preferred, but 3+ years of strong, practical shop floor/garage experience cleanly supersedes formal degree requirements.
- Software Skills: Operational proficiency with Google Suite (Docs/Sheets) and comfort opening/navigating 3D CAD models (e.g., SolidWorks) for reference.
