Project Manager – Custom Controls Job Description

Position Summary
Lone Star Logics is seeking a Project Manager to deliver custom industrial control and integration projects. Our work includes control panels, PLC/HMI packages, motor control, packaged skids, and turnkey integration. This role manages sold projects from handoff through design, purchasing, build, factory testing, shipment, startup support, and closeout.
Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Build and manage the project plan, including schedule, budget, milestones, constraints, and risks.
- Coordinate Engineering, Panel Design, Programming, Purchasing, the Shop, and Field Service.
- Serve as the customer’s working contact after the order, handling status updates, questions, change orders, and punch lists.
- Protect project scope by pricing and documenting changes.
- Drive factory acceptance testing and shipment readiness.
- Support commissioning as the project lead.
- Keep drawings, submittals, correspondence, and revision control current.
Required Education: Associate or bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Project Management, or equivalent field experience.
Skills and Qualifications (Required)
- Five or more years managing custom industrial control, panel, automation, or electrical integration projects.
- Ability to read schematics, panel layouts, control narratives, and specifications and recognize potential build or startup issues.
- Demonstrated ability to manage schedules and costs and communicate problems clearly.
- Strong written and spoken communication.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience managing projects in a shop that designs and builds custom systems.

Schedule: Full-Time
Travel: Typically 20–30%; home most weekends
