Roles & Responsibilities
Site Network AssessmentConduct detailed assessment of the existing power plant network infrastructure.
Review routers| switches| firewalls| WAN connectivity| wireless infrastructure| network circuits| racks| patch panels| and physical cabling.
Document the current-state network topology and identify technical gaps| risks| dependencies| and obsolete infrastructure.
Target Network ArchitectureDesign the target-state network architecture required to integrate the power plant into the enterprise environment.
Develop HLD/LLD| network topology diagrams| connectivity requirements| IP addressing strategy| segmentation| redundancy| and resiliency requirements.
LAN/WAN ArchitectureDesign and validate enterprise LAN/WAN connectivity| including routing| switching| VLANs| WAN circuits| SD-WAN| and site connectivity.
Define redundant connectivity and high-availability requirements for critical plant services.
Network Security & SegmentationWork with cybersecurity and OT security teams to develop secure network segmentation between enterprise IT and plant/OT environments.
Support firewall architecture| security zones| access requirements| and network-security controls.
Ensure the migration adheres to applicable client security and infrastructure standards.
OT/IT IntegrationCoordinate integration requirements between corporate IT infrastructure and power plant operational technology.
Identify connectivity dependencies involving plant systems and other operational applications without introducing unnecessary dependencies between OT and enterprise networks.
Site Migration PlanningDevelop the detailed network migration and cutover approach.
Identify prerequisites| sequencing| dependencies| maintenance-window requirements| validation criteria| rollback requirements| and post-migration activities.
Design the migration to minimize interruption to site operations.
Physical Infrastructure & CablingAssess structured cabling and physical network infrastructure.
