What You'll Do
Manage Project Finances: Oversee project budgets, expenditures, and accounting activities to ensure accuracy and compliance. Set up and maintain project data, contracts, and change orders within the accounting system.
Reporting & Compliance: Prepare financial and regulatory reports, reconcile project data, and assist with audits and closing processes to maintain accurate financial records.
Collaboration & Support: Work closely with project managers, department heads, and Purchasing to manage requisitions, monitor spending, and provide financial insights and guidance.
Continuous Improvement & Administration: Track project performance, prepare reimbursement invoices, support annual financial reporting, and help improve financial processes and systems.
Skills You'll Need
- Strong Accounting & Financial Knowledge - Solid understanding of GAAP, budgeting, fund/governmental accounting, and financial reporting.
- Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills - Ability to analyze data, monitor budgets, identify variances, and recommend improvements.
- Technical Proficiency - Advanced Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, data modeling) and experience with ERP systems such as Tyler Munis.
- Attention to Detail - High accuracy in managing financial data, reconciliations, and reporting.
- Effective Communication - Clear, professional verbal and written communication with internal teams and external partners.
- Organization & Integrity - Strong time management, ability to prioritize multiple projects, and commitment to confidentiality.
What You Bring/Your Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Three (3) years of full-time relevant and progressive experience in financial analysis, budgeting and project planning.
- Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Five (5) years of accounting experience.
- Fund Accounting/governmental exposure or experience.
- Projecting Accounting exposure and experience.
- Experience understanding and interpreting governmental procedures and regulations related to accounting requirements.
- Advanced skills in MS Excel (ability to use formulas, create pivot tables, data modeling, and reporting); experience/knowledge in Tyler Munis or similar system.
- Experience processing reimbursement invoices utilizing any third-party system.
