Snapshot / Role Overview
We're seeking a Mechanical Project Director in the Phoenix area to lead a portfolio of special projects across HVAC, plumbing, chiller, and mechanical systems and to lead the project managers who run them.
Impact
- Oversee special projects from preconstruction through closeout and collections.
- Protect margins by directing forecasting, change management, and budget controls across many PMs.
- Strengthen client relationships on office buildings, hotels, and high-rises.
- Build department capacity by recruiting, mentoring, and evaluating PMs and project engineers.
Responsibilities
- Direct project managers on HVAC, plumbing, piping, and mechanical special projects.
- Review and approve estimates, change orders, and monthly job cost reports.
- Assign PMs to incoming work and balance workload.
- Lead project review meetings and enforce quality and safety.
- Resolve client escalations.
Must-Haves
- Director-level leadership of mechanical project managers.
- Deep command of job cost, forecasting, and change management.
- Experience on commercial office, hospitality, or high-rise mechanical work.
Nice-to-Haves
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
- Special projects or service-construction background.
