Snapshot / Role Overview

We're seeking a Mechanical Project Director in the Phoenix area to lead a portfolio of special projects across HVAC, plumbing, chiller, and mechanical systems and to lead the project managers who run them.

Impact

• Oversee special projects from preconstruction through closeout and collections.
• Protect margins by directing forecasting, change management, and budget controls across many PMs.
• Strengthen client relationships on office buildings, hotels, and high-rises.
• Build department capacity by recruiting, mentoring, and evaluating PMs and project engineers.

Responsibilities

• Direct project managers on HVAC, plumbing, piping, and mechanical special projects.
• Review and approve estimates, change orders, and monthly job cost reports.
• Assign PMs to incoming work and balance workload.
• Lead project review meetings and enforce quality and safety.
• Resolve client escalations.

Must-Haves

• Director-level leadership of mechanical project managers.
• Deep command of job cost, forecasting, and change management.
• Experience on commercial office, hospitality, or high-rise mechanical work.

Nice-to-Haves

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
• Special projects or service-construction background.
