Organization: Newton County Tomorrow (NCT) in partnership with the Newton Chamber of Commerce

Location: Covington, Georgia

Reports To: Newton Chamber President (administrative supervision) with priorities and project direction established by Newton County Tomorrow leadership.

Hours: Up to 29 hours per week
\n
Status: Part-Time Employee of the Newton Chamber of Commerce
\n
Compensation: $40,000/year
\n
About Newton County Tomorrow\n
Newton County Tomorrow (NCT) is a collaborative coalition of public, private, and civic leaders working together to improve the quality of life in Newton County. Since 2002, NCT has served as a neutral convener and strategic collaboration platform bringing together local governments, the business community, education leaders, and civic institutions to address key issues related to growth, infrastructure, workforce development, and community planning.

Funding partners include Newton County, the municipalities of Covington, Oxford, Porterdale, Mansfield, and Newborn, along with the Newton Chamber of Commerce, Newton County Schools, Newton County Water and Sewerage Authority, and the Covington Housing Authority.
Position Overview\n
The Newton County Tomorrow Project & Program Coordinator provides organizational coordination, project support, communications assistance, and administrative support to advance the mission and strategic priorities of Newton County Tomorrow.
\n
The Coordinator serves as a key liaison among NCT board members, funding partners, community stakeholders, and collaborative partners. The position supports implementation of NCT initiatives through effective communication, project coordination, meeting management, and stakeholder engagement.
\n
While employed by the Newton Chamber of Commerce, the Coordinator's primary focus and responsibility is supporting the work, initiatives, and priorities of Newton County Tomorrow.

Key ResponsibilitiesMeeting Coordination and Organizational Support\n
● Attend Newton County Tomorrow & Archway board and committee meetings
\n
● Develop and distribute NCT meeting agendas in coordination with board leadership
\n
● Prepare and distribute meeting materials in advance of meetings
\n
● Track action items and follow-up tasks resulting from meetings
\n
● Maintain official organizational records and meeting archives
\n
Partner and Stakeholder Communication\n
● Serve as a primary point of contact for NCT funding partners and board members
\n
● Maintain consistent communication with representatives from partner organizations
\n
● Coordinate scheduling and communications among the NCT board and partner agencies
\n
● Provide periodic updates on projects and initiatives
\n
Project Coordination and Implementation\n
● Track and coordinate Newton County Tomorrow initiatives and collaborative projects
\n
● Work with the UGA Archway Partnership professional to identify opportunities where Archway workgroups, research, or university expertise could support NCT initiatives
\n
● Coordinate project meetings, timelines, and deliverables
\n
● Monitor project progress and provide status updates to the board
\n
Communications and Public Awareness\n
● Provide light management of Newton County Tomorrow’s current social media platforms to maintain a consistent and professional presence
\n
● Coordinate with a designated board member or communications volunteer who may support or lead social media efforts
\n
● Assist with the development and distribution of a periodic Newton County Tomorrow newsletter or stakeholder update
\n
● Support preparation of presentations, reports, and informational materials related to NCT initiatives
\n
Organizational Operations\n
● Coordinate logistics for NCT board meetings, committee meetings, retreats, and special events
\n
● Maintain organizational records, contact lists, meeting archives, and supporting documentation
\n
● Assist with preparation of reports, presentations, and materials for funding partners and stakeholders
\n
● Support tracking of organizational priorities, project milestones, and board action items
\n
● Coordinate with Chamber staff regarding financial reports, invoicing, budget information, and administrative support needs
\n
● Assist with grant, funding, or partnership documentation if applicable
\n
Community Representation\n
● Represent Newton County Tomorrow at community meetings and/or events when appropriate
\n
● Strengthen awareness of NCT’s mission and collaborative role within the community
\n
● Maintain relationships with civic, business, and government leaders across Newton County
\n
Preferred Qualifications\n
● Experience in project coordination, nonprofit administration, public administration, community development, or a related field
\n
● Strong organizational, time management and coordination skills
\n
● Ability to support collaboration across multiple stakeholder groups
\n
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills
\n
● Experience with social media management, digital communications, or newsletters
\n
● Familiarity with Newton County and its institutions is strongly preferred
\n

Performance Evaluation
\n
● The Project & Program Coordinator will be evaluated annually by the President of the Newton Chamber of Commerce.
\n
● Evaluation input will be provided by the Chair of Newton County Tomorrow.
\n
● Feedback from the NCT Board of Directors will be gathered through a structured process and considered as part of the evaluation.
