Job Description
Job Description
Backend Developer — Information Systems
The Role
Join a small, high-trust Information Systems team responsible for the internal tools and infrastructure that support day-to-day business operations. The team owns staff-facing applications, document and e-signature workflows, scheduling and communication integrations, billing tools, and the shared data layer beneath them.
This is a hands-on role with meaningful ownership: the code you ship supports critical business operations.
What We're Looking For
- Ownership over hand-holding. You’re expected to read the code and independently work through your assigned projects.
- A strong commitment to security and correctness.
- Clear communication that keeps teammates informed.
- A focus on real, verifiable work over work that only appears complete.
What You’ll Do
- Design, build, and maintain backend services, APIs, and data models for internal applications.
- Build and maintain integrations with third-party services.
- Work with the team’s shared relational database.
- Write and run automated tests and troubleshoot issues.
- Participate in code review.
- Take ownership of a backend subsystem or integration.
About the Role

- Authentication and authorization: JWT/OAuth2, Azure AD/Entra ID, and RBAC.
- Data: SQL/MySQL, schema design, and migrations.
- Integrations: REST APIs, webhooks, and OAuth2 flows.
- Azure environment: Azure Functions, secrets, logs, and deployments.
- Testing and troubleshooting: pytest, integration tests, and Postman/curl.
- Shared tooling: Git/GitHub and CI/CD pipelines.
