Job DescriptionGENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

The Test Technician III is responsible for ensuring quality designs through comprehensive requirement testing and validation. We are looking for high-energy talent possessing a passion for leadership, change, team spirit, and enthusiasm. The vision for our test and development department is a highly-credible, influential, and capable operation held in highest regard and characterized by excellence.

In this test technician roll, individuals will have the authority, support, and autonomy to execute the vision as well as establishing themselves as high-respected contributors.

The position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of different components, subsystems and vehicles. The position requires the technical expertise to develop and lead product validation testing, drive to root cause for quality and reliability issues, interpret technical agency standards, and conduct projects in accordance with engineering excellence.


PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

  • Full understanding of how to accelerate, correlate and standardize our test needs
  • Execute a prioritized roadmap of needed test capabilities
  • Fluent in most test/prototype processes, suggests improvements and acts as a resource for direct reports and other staff
  • Tailor your communication and leadership style for maximum effectiveness and influence across all levels of the organization
  • Drive diligence and collaboration in requirements, analysis, modeling, DFMEA, testing, acceptance criteria
  • Employ project management methodologies that ensure a predictable outcome for department goals and responsibilities
  • Continuously raise your level of leadership, authority, and influence
  • Embrace the empowerment you have as a key member of an exciting transformation
  • Fluent in most test/prototype processes, suggests improvements and acts as a resource for direct reports and other staff
  • Working knowledge of product lines
  • Knows when more data is required to make technical decisions
  • Manage multiple projects and priorities with specific goals autonomously
  • Effectively self-manage large projects
  • Aid in development and fully execute test plans from the component to the vehicle level
  • Automate world class data management and analytics
  • Interact with customer in the field as needed
  • Train less experienced team members and provide technical leadership
  • Introduce new technologies, techniques and processes to the department
  • Understand the products and provide feedback on ways they can be improved
  • Helps develop technical judgment of others within the department
  • Regularly uses advanced decision making tools and techniques
  • Able to organize the efforts of a small group of individuals



OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintains safe and productive work environment by assuring the work area is clear of tools, brooms, debris, and other items that may present a hazard.
  • Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB

Education:

  • Associates Degree in Engineering or related electrical education is preferred. 

Experience:

  • 5+ years electrical test/design experience required.
  • Experience in DAQ (Data Acquisition) equipment and testing methodologies
  • Reliability and statistics capability
  • Experience with Project management
  • Experience with problem solving (9-step, 8D, etc.)
  • Knowledge of APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning)
  • Intermediate computer skills (MS Office: Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint).

  • Knowledge of vehicle and automotive systems preferred.



PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Requires occasional lifting of objects of objects 25 to 50 pounds.
  • Work requires periodic stooping/bending and frequent walking/standing.
  • Work involves activities that require special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving parts, machines, or vehicles.
