Job Description

Job Description

The role

You own the architecture and build the application: a React front end on the U.S. Web Design System over a .NET minimal API on Azure App Service, driven by a configuration-based form engine. You deliver working software at fixed federal milestones through automated quality gates: full test suite, accessibility scans, static analysis, and human review before anything ships. Deep stack mastery is the foundation of this role; you must be able to design, build, debug, and defend every part of this system yourself.

What you will do

• Author the technical design document against government-furnished data definitions and interface requirements

• Build the form engine, branching logic, validation, contextual guidance layer, document upload flow, administrative console, and the data integration adapter

• Deliver working builds at fixed milestones (working prototype at day 45, beta at day 90, production-ready at day 150) through test-gated, source-controlled releases

• Produce and maintain the security and privacy documentation package; remediate findings on required timelines

• Write administrator and technical guides; lead knowledge transfer at transition

Required qualifications

• 7+ years software engineering with C#/.NET and a modern web front end (React or Angular)

• REST API design and SQL Server in production

• Azure (or comparable cloud) deployment experience

• CI/CD practice: Azure DevOps or GitHub, Git-based workflow, test-gated merges

• Federal or healthcare software delivery on the record

Preferred (strong additional advantage)

• An established AI-aided development workflow of your own: daily use of tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or Cursor to accelerate delivery, with the discipline to review, test, and own everything that ships. Development on this project uses AI coding assistants within a controlled engineering process, and candidates who already work this way productively will move faster from day one.

• Section 508 / WCAG accessibility implementation experience

• Azure certifications

• Prior federal modernization work (application migration, authentication integration, government hosting)

How we will assess

A practical technical conversation centered on the stack: walk us through a production system you designed and built with .NET and a modern front end, the hardest bug you chased through it, and how you tested it. If you work AI-assisted, be ready to describe your workflow and how you verify what the tools produce.
