Indoor AgTech Software Engineer — Cloud & Edge IoT:

What You'll Build
You’ll design and deploy intelligent IoT solutions leveraging Azure-IoT technolgoy to support autonomous farming environments. Think sensors, vision systems, machine learning at the edge, and robust data pipelines that help plants thrive—no green thumb required, just sharp code.
You'll work with:
- Sensor networks for soil, climate, and nutrient monitoring
- Real-time data acquisition and processing from smart sensors
- Cloud-native services for device management, analytics, and ML inference
- Edge deployments that enable low-latency decision-making in greenhouses and vertical farms
Desired Skills/Experience:
Experience Designing, Creating and Coding IoT focused software systems that incorporate Cameras (computer vision, recording, etc.) combined with AI technology.
Languages: Python, Windows/MicroSoft C#/C/C++ and/or Rust (a plus)
Edge & IoT Tools:
- Azure IoT Edge Dev Tool, Docker, Azure CLI
Cloud & Data:
- Azure SQL Edge, Cosmos DB, Azure Blob Storage
Protocols:
- MQTT, OPC-UA, LoRaWAN
- Familiarity with Modbus, Zigbee, BLE (a plus)
Intelligence & Analytics:
- Azure Machine Learning, ONNX, Stream Analytics
- AWS SageMaker, IoT Analytics
- GCP Vertex AI, Dataflow
Sensor Data & Connectivity:
- Experience integrating smart sensors with cloud IoT platforms
- Building pipelines to ingest, process, and visualize sensor data
- Custom firmware or edge logic for sensor calibration and control
AgTech Integrations:
- Azure Data Manager for Agriculture (FarmBeats), Digital Twin
- Familiarity with greenhouse automation systems and indoor farming protocols
Pluses:
- Prior experience in smart building systems including Smart-Cameras combined with industrial IoT, or indoor farming software
- Experience designing and creating GraphQL APIs
- A passion for sustainability and indoor food production
- Interest in working for a fast-moving startup with equity potential
