Our client, located in Ellicott City, MD, is a highly successful and growing Managed Services Provider supporting businesses with their technology infrastructure, applications, cybersecurity, and day-to-day IT operations. They are seeking a Senior Systems Analyst to join their team in a hands-on role for one of their clients located in Columbia, MD that combines end-user technology support, systems administration, business application management, and process improvement. This position is ideal for an experienced IT professional who has evolved beyond traditional help desk or desktop support and is comfortable working across both technical infrastructure and business applications. The Senior Systems Analyst will serve as an important resource for internal users, business leadership, technology vendors, and third-party partners. The successful candidate will have strong Microsoft 365 and Windows troubleshooting capabilities along with experience administering Salesforce and other business-critical applications. This individual will also play an active role in improving system integrations, workflows, cybersecurity practices, documentation, and technology-driven business processes. This is a fully onsite position in Columbia, Maryland, requiring someone who enjoys being hands-on, solving problems, working directly with users, and taking ownership of technology initiatives.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide onsite technical assistance for employees experiencing issues with computers, laptops, monitors, docking stations, printers, mobile devices, peripherals, software, and other workplace technology.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve Windows, Microsoft 365, Outlook, application, connectivity, permissions, authentication, and workstation-related problems.
  • Configure, deploy, maintain, upgrade, and troubleshoot hardware and software used throughout the organization.
  • Provide ongoing administration and support for Salesforce, including user management, configuration, dashboards, reports, automation, workflows, data quality, and platform enhancements.
  • Assist with the administration, maintenance, and optimization of business applications and technology platforms, including Salesforce, Microsoft 365, eMoney, Gateway, Tamarac, and related systems.
  • Investigate system issues, recurring technology problems, workflow inefficiencies, and opportunities for process improvement.
  • Evaluate business requirements and work with internal stakeholders to develop practical technology solutions that improve efficiency and user productivity.
  • Serve as a liaison between internal users, leadership, software developers, technology vendors, custodians, external consultants, and other third-party technology partners.
  • Assist with troubleshooting and improving integrations and data exchanges between Salesforce and other business applications.
  • Participate in the evaluation, testing, configuration, deployment, and ongoing support of new software, system enhancements, upgrades, patches, and technology initiatives.
  • Maintain appropriate user accounts, permissions, access controls, system configurations, and data integrity.
  • Help identify and address technology-related security risks involving endpoints, applications, user access, organizational data, and business systems.
  • Assist with cybersecurity investigations, endpoint issues, access-related incidents, and remediation activities in coordination with internal and external technology partners.
  • Contribute to the organization's adoption of artificial intelligence by identifying practical AI applications and helping implement solutions that increase efficiency and productivity.
  • Create and maintain system documentation, technical procedures, configuration records, troubleshooting resources, and user training materials.
  • Provide escalation-level technical support while maintaining a professional, responsive, and service-oriented approach with internal users.
  • Balance immediate technical support needs with longer-term systems administration, analysis, and technology improvement projects.

Qualification & Requirements

  • Required Qualifications
    • 5+ years of progressive IT experience in systems support, systems administration, systems analysis, application support, CRM administration, or a closely related technology role.
    • Demonstrated experience providing hands-on support for Windows computers, laptops, peripherals, Microsoft 365 applications, user accounts, connectivity, and common workplace technology.
    • Strong knowledge of the Microsoft 365 environment, particularly Outlook and core Microsoft Office applications.
    • Professional experience administering and supporting Salesforce, including configuration, reporting, dashboards, workflows/automation, data validation, and end-user support.
    • Salesforce Certified Administrator certification is required.
    • Experience working with multiple business applications and troubleshooting integrations or data exchanges between systems.
    • Ability to analyze business processes and workflows and identify opportunities for technology-based improvements.
    • Experience participating in application testing, implementation, deployment, configuration, documentation, and user training.
    • Strong Microsoft Office skills, with exposure to Tableau and/or other reporting, analytics, or data-mapping tools.
    • Working knowledge of cybersecurity principles, endpoint protection, identity and access management, and data security.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, including the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical users.
    • Strong organizational skills and the ability to independently prioritize competing technical issues, projects, and business-system requirements.
  • Preferred Qualifications
    • Previous IT experience within financial services, wealth management, financial planning, or an RIA environment.
    • Familiarity with eMoney, Tamarac, Gateway, financial planning applications, wealth-management platforms, client portals, or similar financial technology systems.
    • Additional Salesforce credentials such as Platform App Builder, Platform Developer I, or Salesforce Certified AI Associate.
    • Experience with Microsoft Entra ID / Azure AD, endpoint management, device administration, or comparable identity and device-management technologies.
    • Experience coordinating with MSPs, software developers, application vendors, custodians, consultants, and other external technology providers.
    • Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Wi-Fi, VPN, and basic network troubleshooting.
    • Familiarity with HTML and an understanding of APIs, integrations, data exchange, or related technologies.
    • Experience identifying and implementing AI-powered tools or solutions designed to improve business processes and employee productivity.
  • Education
    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • Associate's or bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or a related discipline is preferred.
    • Equivalent professional experience and technical expertise may be considered in lieu of a college degree.

Work Environment & Schedule

  • Full-time, onsite position in Columbia, Maryland.
  • Monday through Friday, approximately 8:30 AM 5:00 PM.
  • This position requires regular onsite presence and does not offer a standard remote or hybrid work schedule.

Ideal Candidate

  • The ideal candidate is an experienced, technically versatile IT professional who can move comfortably between hands-on troubleshooting and higher-level systems analysis. They should be someone who can resolve a Microsoft 365 or workstation issue in the morning, troubleshoot a Salesforce workflow or integration later that day, collaborate with a technology vendor, and identify opportunities to improve the organization's overall technology environment.
  • A strong customer-service mindset, attention to detail, independence, and genuine interest in improving how technology supports the business will be important to success in this position.
