Location: Mount Kisco, NY
MUST BE AVAILABLE FOR BOTH DAYS OF THIS WEEKEND PROJECT
Project Schedule
Saturday, October 3, 2026: Start at 12:00 PM, anticipated 12+ hour shift
Sunday, October 4, 2026: Approximately 8-hour shift supporting post-cutover validation and troubleshooting
About the Opportunity
We are seeking four (4) Smart Hands Network Technicians to support a critical weekend network cutover at a corporate location in Mount Kisco, NY. This is a hands-on infrastructure project supporting the migration and activation of network equipment within MDF and IDF environments.
This role is ideal for technicians with experience in structured cabling, telecom, data center, network installation, or Smart Hands support. Candidates do not need to be network engineers but should be comfortable working independently in telecom rooms and performing physical-layer network activities while coordinating with a remote engineering team.
Required Experience
Smart Hands, Network Technician, Telecom Technician, Data Center Technician, or Structured Cabling experience
Experience working in MDF and IDF environments
Rack-and-stack of switches and network hardware
Installation, removal, and replacement of network equipment
Copper and fiber patching experience
Installation and verification of SFP/SFP+ transceivers
Ability to identify fiber types and connector types
Basic fiber troubleshooting and connectivity verification
Familiarity with fiber cleaning and inspection practices
Basic Category 6/6A troubleshooting
Tone, tag, and trace experience
Ability to follow port maps, patch schedules, labeling standards, and cutover documentation
Strong communication skills and ability to support remote network engineers
Responsibilities
Support a live weekend network cutover
Install and turn up network equipment in MDF and IDF locations
Rack-and-stack switches and associated hardware
Perform fiber and copper patching activities
Verify link status and physical connectivity
Support troubleshooting efforts during and after the cutover
Move patches, reseat cables, swap optics, and validate connections as directed
Identify and troubleshoot patch panel, switch, and cross-connect relationships
Communicate field conditions, cable information, port details, and equipment status to the engineering team
Assist with Sunday troubleshooting and next-business-day operational support

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Mount Kisco, NY.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
