About the Role
\n
Altech Solutions is hiring a Senior Linux Systems Administrator to support enterprise IT systems at NASA Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, AL. This is a hands-on, Linux-first role. Most of the work centers on DNS/DDI servers, with a strong emphasis on automation through Ansible and scripting.

What You’ll Do

- Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot Linux/RHEL servers in a NASA operational environment
- Support DNS/DDI infrastructure
- Automate configuration, deployment, and maintenance tasks using Ansible and scripting
- Work with Cisco Software Defined Networking as part of day-to-day system support
- Support the small portion of the environment that runs on VMware
- Perform patching, upgrades, backups, and routine audits to keep systems compliant with NASA IT policies
- Monitor and tune systems for performance and reliability
- Write and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and system diagrams
- Work closely with network engineers, application teams, and other administrators to resolve issues

What We Need
\n
- \n
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field
- 6+ years of professional systems administration experience
- Strong Linux/RHEL administration skills
- Hands-on experience with Ansible and scripting (Bash, Python, or similar)
- Working knowledge of Cisco Software Defined Networking
- Experience with DNS/DDI servers
- Some VMware experience

Preferred

- Red Hat certification (RHCSA/RHCE) and/or CompTIA Security+
- Experience supporting government, aerospace, or NASA environments
- Current Public Trust clearance
\n

- US citizenship is required. This position supports a federal contract and requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
- This is an on-site position at NASA MSFC. You must live within 50 miles of Huntsville, AL. Relocation is not provided.
