About the Role\n
MARTIN Technologies is seeking a hands-on Dynamometer Test Engineer / Technologist to support engine and powertrain testing, validation, data acquisition, and troubleshooting activities. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working directly with dynamometer test cells, instrumentation, test equipment, and engineering teams to deliver accurate, reliable test results.

The successful candidate will help build, validate, execute, and improve dynamometer test procedures while ensuring data quality and minimizing test-cell downtime.
Key Responsibilities\n

- Set up, validate, and execute dynamometer test procedures and test-cell activities.
- Perform engine and powertrain testing using dynamometer systems and associated instrumentation.
- Verify instrumentation and test-cell calibration to ensure accurate data acquisition.
- Collect, review, validate, and analyze test data for engineering use.
- Ensure test data is properly documented and delivered for engineering review.
- Review daily QA data and investigate deviations, anomalies, or potential test problems.
- Troubleshoot test-cell equipment, instrumentation, and test-related issues.
- Identify opportunities to improve test procedures, data quality, and test-cell efficiency.
- Work closely with engineers, instrumentation personnel, and facility operations.
- Support test-cell maintenance and help minimize equipment downtime.
- Follow established safety, quality, and engineering procedures.
- Maintain accurate test documentation, records, and reports.

Qualifications\n

- Experience working with engine dynamometers, chassis dynamometers, or automotive test cells.
- Hands-on experience with test-cell equipment, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems.
- Ability to interpret and analyze test data and identify inconsistencies or anomalies.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of automotive engines, powertrain systems, and testing procedures.
- Ability to work effectively with engineers and technical teams.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
- Ability to work on-site in Dearborn, Michigan.
- Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills.

Preferred Experience\n

- Experience with automotive OEM, Tier 1, motorsports, or advanced powertrain testing.
- Familiarity with dynamometer control and data acquisition software.

- Knowledge of engine performance, emissions, durability, or validation testing.
- Technical degree, engineering background, or equivalent hands-on experience.
