Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level Engineer to join our Heavy Haul Transportation team. The ideal candidate will have experience with AutoCAD and a strong desire to develop expertise in heavy haul transportation planning and engineering. This position is responsible for producing transportation and lashing drawings, assisting with project management, and supporting the planning and execution of oversized and overweight cargo movements.

Key Responsibilities

• Create transportation route drawings using AutoCAD for heavy haul and oversized load projects.
• Develop lashing and cargo securement drawings in accordance with customer requirements and industry standards.
• Produce engineered transportation drawings, lift plans, and project documentation.
• Review customer specifications, cargo dimensions, and transportation requirements.
• Coordinate with project managers, logistics personnel, carriers, and customers to ensure project accuracy and timely completion.
• Assist in planning transportation routes, including bridge crossings, turning radius evaluations, and clearance analysis.
• Prepare project documentation, reports, and drawing revisions as needed.
• Maintain organized project files and drawing records.
• Support permit applications by providing technical drawings and required documentation.
• Participate in project meetings and communicate project status with internal teams and clients.
• Ensure all drawings comply with company standards and applicable transportation regulations.
• Assist with additional engineering and project management duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering field (preferred).
• Proficiency in AutoCAD is required.
• Experience with Autodesk Civil 3D or similar drafting software is a plus.
• Strong technical drawing and drafting skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of heavy haul transportation or specialized logistics.
• Familiarity with DOT regulations, permitting processes, and cargo securement principles.
• Understanding of engineering drawings and structural concepts.
• Experience reading transportation plans and construction drawings.
