Role Description This full-time Information Technology Help Desk role is a hybrid position based in Philadelphia, PA, with a mix of on-site work and work-from-home flexibility. The Help Desk team member will respond to support tickets, phone calls, and emails to resolve hardware, software, and network issues for small and midsize business clients. Day-to-day responsibilities include diagnosing and troubleshooting technical problems, escalating complex issues when necessary, and documenting solutions and procedures in ticketing and knowledge management systems. The role also involves assisting with user onboarding, account and access setup, basic network and security checks, and communicating clearly with non-technical users to ensure positive service experiences. Collaboration with other IT staff to improve processes, maintain system stability, and support ongoing projects is an essential part of this position.

Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in Information Technology, including common operating systems, business applications, and end-user hardware.
  • \n

  • Hands-on experience with Network Administration and basic configuration of routers, switches, and wireless access points.
  • \n

  • Proficiency in Troubleshooting technical issues, diagnosing root causes, and implementing effective, timely solutions.
  • \n

  • Understanding of Network Security principles, including user access controls, patching, antivirus, and secure remote access.
  • \n

  • Demonstrated Customer Service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, respectfully, and patiently with users of varying technical backgrounds.
  • \n

  • Familiarity with help desk or ticketing systems and structured incident management practices.
  • \n

  • Ability to work in a hybrid environment, manage priorities independently, and collaborate within a small, high-performing team.
  • \n

  • Relevant certification or education (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, or degree in IT or related field) preferred but not required.
  • \n

  • Willingness to travel locally within the greater Philadelphia area when on-site support is needed.
