ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
Correctly understand and comprehend Floor Plans and create a neat, detailed, systematic set of carpet installation/seaming plans complete with carpet images using AutoCAD or similar computer software. Calculate the quantities of the materials required for the project based on the application designs. Develop initial ideas and acquire key information about potential projects, discuss requirements in detail with sales force or clients. Create custom layouts in the various installation methods including carpet borders and carpet rugs etc. Accurately total all material quantities of standard and custom pattern carpets and list all material information (pattern repeats, installation locations, etc.) in an estimating quote report which is supplied to the customer, field sales person, and Estimating Dept. Provide the customer, field sales person with an AutoCAD carpet installation/seaming plans (in color) electronic or printed .Coordinate any changes, additions, or developments that relate to a completed project with the customer, project designer, and field sales person by correctly revising the estimating quote report, AutoCAD carpet installation/seaming plans, manufacturing layouts, etc., and distributing the revised materials to the appropriate people. Operate effectively with other departments of Custom Design, Custom samples Dept., Production Dept., Sales, Customer and Manufacturing generating successful project completions. Responsible for processing digital and printed simulations that come in from the custom development department. Be available to speak to the sales staff and customer who have interest in simulations, Room Scenes and Floor Plan Renderings Maintain colors in sim yarn database. Maintain and organize custom and standard patterns in sim database. Support the simulation coordinator and all members of design on special simulation projects.
EXPERIENCE OR REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Textile Design, graphic design, or a similar field preferred.
- Demonstrated project estimating experience preferred
- Demonstrated the ability to read and interpret blue prints
- Requires excellent communication skills including written, verbal, and presentation methods.
- Knowledge of carpet manufacturing and design processes.
- Experience with Floor Covering Installation Procedures
- Demonstrated ability of mathematics, specifically fractions and measurements
- Experience with AutoCAD, Photoshop or Refit software
- Demonstrate Ability to apply geometric concepts needed to scale and measure plans
- Technical skills include graphic and electronic medium experience
- Previous color matching skills required
- Must be highly organized and self-started
- Previous project management skills required
- Performs other related duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational objectives.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
Frequent: Balance, climb, crouch, depth perception, handle, hear, kneel, manual dexterity, lift 15-20 lbs., reach, speak, stand, and stoop. Use personal protective equipment.
Occasional: Crawl, grasp, sit and walk.
Required: Close vision, color, and texture.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
General office environment.
Please note that if you have been transferred to your shift within the past six months, you may not be eligible to change shifts. However, you may be eligible to be considered for a different job within your dept. should you meet the above requirements.
Starting pay range: $25-$30
