Job Title: Desktop Support Technician
Location: Groton/New London, CT (Onsite)
Payrate: $25/Hr
Schedule: Split Shift – 20 hours on weekdays and 20 hours on weekends
Job Overview
We're looking for a Desktop Support Technician to provide onsite technical support for computer hardware, software, and networking equipment. In this role, you'll install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, servers, and other IT equipment while delivering excellent customer service.
Responsibilities
- Set up and install computer hardware and software
- Troubleshoot and repair desktops, laptops, printers, and other IT equipment
- Install, configure, and maintain PCs, servers, peripherals, and networking devices
- Perform hardware replacements, including hard drives and other components
- Reload, re-image, and configure computers as needed
- Complete equipment installs, moves, adds, and changes
- Test and verify computer systems, networks, and approved applications
- Escalate complex technical issues when necessary
- Update service tickets and ensure Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are met
- Deliver professional and friendly onsite customer support
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of desktop support, IT support, or computer technician experience
- Basic knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networking
- Experience troubleshooting Windows PCs, laptops, and printers
- Familiarity with software installation and computer imaging/re-imaging
- Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills
- Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently
- Ability to travel to customer sites as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting basic servers and network devices
- Familiarity with ticketing systems and SLA-driven support environments
- Experience replacing hardware components such as hard drives, memory, and other PC parts
