Advanced Systems Design is seeking a Software Technician for our client.
This is a fully onsite opportunity to work alongside the federal government.
JOB SUMMARY:
- Provide technical support for all software contained on the Dean of Faculty IT systems at the client site.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
- Works independently or with a team.
- The Technician will document Faculty IT process(es) for software (desktop/web-based) procurement.
- They will also ensure academic software is current as new updates/versions become available and make accessible to Cybersecurity personnel as required for testing/evaluation. Provide recommendations for software procurement/Acquisition as required; to include market research, salient characteristics, statement of need and single source justification (as required).
- Update/install all academic software applications. Ensure all software is approved via the client approval process as necessary before being placed on a government network.
- Develop and implement an approved printer support plan.
- This plan must include configuring and coordinating printing functions with other client networks.
- The plan must also provide a printer sustainment protocol for life cycle monitoring and replacement.
- Provide on-call support as required.
- Obtain technical guidance as required from supervisor and/or higher-level technician.
- Observe and adhere to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and client safety rules and regulations.
- Fulfill other work center duties as assigned.
SECONDARY DUTIES:
- Provides support to other contract work centers in the event of manpower shortages or unexpected requirements.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES:
- As assignedby the Program Director.
Required Qualifications:
- Four years or more of experience in computer, software implementation and maintenance and peripheral equipment.
- A SECRET security clearance is required. An IAT Level II certification.
Education:
- An associate's degree in IT or a related field. Equivalent experience can be used as a substitute for this degree.
