Senior Data Engineer (Microsoft Fabric / Azure)

\n

Location: Remote

\n

Employment Type: Full-Time

\n

About the Opportunity

\n

We're partnering with an established organization undergoing a significant transformation of its enterprise data infrastructure. They're looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer to take ownership of key data modernization initiatives, including a major migration from Azure Synapse to Microsoft Fabric.

\n

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on data engineer who enjoys working at the architectural level, driving technical decisions, and helping shape an organization's long-term data strategy.

\n

You'll play a key role in designing scalable data solutions, implementing governance frameworks, and mentoring junior engineers while working closely with technical leadership and business stakeholders.

\n

\n

Key Responsibilities

\n

    \n
  • Lead key components of the organization's Azure Synapse to Microsoft Fabric migration, owning architecture, design, and implementation decisions.
  • \n

  • Design, develop, and manage Microsoft Fabric environments, including Lakehouses, Warehouses, Notebooks, and Data Pipelines.
  • \n

  • Establish data governance, cataloging, and architecture standards to improve data quality, consistency, and accessibility.
  • \n

  • Develop and optimize scalable data pipelines using SQL, Python, and Azure data technologies.
  • \n

  • Support integrations across enterprise platforms, including ERP, HRIS, financial, and asset management systems.
  • \n

  • Collaborate with IT leadership and business stakeholders to define technical requirements and data architecture best practices.
  • \n

  • Troubleshoot existing data pipelines and identify opportunities to improve performance and scalability.
  • \n

  • Mentor junior data engineers and provide technical guidance on Microsoft Fabric and data migration methodologies.
  • \n

\n

\n

What We're Looking For

\n

    \n
  • 5–8 years of experience in data engineering, ideally with experience owning complex data platform initiatives.
  • \n

  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, including workspace architecture, Lakehouses, Warehouses, and Pipelines.
  • \n

  • Demonstrated experience migrating workloads from Azure Synapse and Azure Data Factory to Microsoft Fabric.
  • \n

  • Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python.
  • \n

  • Experience designing and implementing data governance, cataloging, and data architecture frameworks.
  • \n

  • Proven ability to lead data platform migrations from initial planning through implementation.
  • \n

  • An applicable Microsoft Certified: Associate certification is required.
  • \n

\n

\n

Why Consider This Opportunity?

\n

    \n
  • Architectural Ownership: Take the lead on significant data platform modernization initiatives rather than simply executing predefined tasks.
  • \n

  • Modern Technology: Work extensively with Microsoft Fabric, Azure, Python, and enterprise data architecture.
  • \n

  • Technical Leadership: Influence architectural decisions and mentor other engineers.
  • \n

  • Business Impact: Help build the foundation of a modern enterprise data ecosystem.
  • \n

  • Established Organization: Join a long-standing business investing in the modernization of its technology infrastructure.
  • \n

\n

If you're an experienced Data Engineer with strong Microsoft Fabric expertise and a background in enterprise data migrations, we'd love to hear from you.
