Job DescriptionWe are looking for a Business Analytics/Data Analyst to support data-focused initiatives for a leading manufacturing organization in St. Louis Park, Minnesota. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who enjoys turning complex customer and vendor information into accurate, meaningful business insights. The role blends analytical problem-solving, data stewardship, and research-driven decision-making in a hybrid work environment.
Responsibilities:
• Analyze domestic and international customer and vendor data to improve accuracy, consistency, and usability across business records.
• Research company ownership structures using AI-enabled tools and other sources to establish clear parent-child hierarchies and document the rationale behind each conclusion.
• Maintain and enhance master data quality by identifying discrepancies, resolving duplicates, and applying governance standards to critical records.
• Use SQL, Excel, and business intelligence tools to interpret data trends, validate information, and support operational reporting needs.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to clarify data issues, confirm business rules, and ensure information aligns with organizational standards.
• Prepare clear summaries of findings, decisions, and data changes so that business users can understand and trust the underlying records.
• Contribute to ongoing data management projects by supporting process improvements and helping maintain reliable reference data.
• Work effectively in a hybrid setting, balancing in-office collaboration with independent analytical work.• 5+ years of experience in data analysis, business analytics, or a related data-focused role.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft SQL, Microsoft Excel, and business intelligence reporting tools.
• Experience with master data management, master data governance, or customer master data processes.
• Demonstrated ability to evaluate data from multiple sources and make sound, well-supported business decisions.
• Comfort using AI-based research tools such as Copilot to investigate vendor or company relationships and explain findings clearly.
• High attention to detail with the ability to manage large datasets involving both domestic and international information.
• Self-directed, proactive work style with the motivation to follow through on research and data quality tasks.
