About the Role
\n
A Cloud Solutions Consultant is sought to support national security customers in designing, implementing, and modernizing secure, scalable cloud architectures on AWS.
\n
The role works directly with mission, engineering, and security teams to understand technical and business requirements, lead discovery workshops, and translate complex customer needs into well-architected cloud solutions. The consultant will guide cloud migration and modernization initiatives while advising customers on security, networking, automation, operational best practices, and cost optimization.
\n
This is a customer-facing technical role requiring strong cloud architecture expertise, consulting skills, and the ability to communicate effectively across mission, engineering, and security stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

- Engage directly with national security customers to understand mission objectives, technical requirements, and cloud adoption priorities.
- Lead discovery sessions and technical workshops with customer, engineering, security, and mission teams.
- Design secure, scalable, highly available AWS cloud architectures aligned with customer requirements and AWS best practices.
- Develop reference architectures, technical designs, demonstrations, and proofs of concept (POCs).
- Lead and support cloud migration, modernization, and transformation initiatives.
- Translate customer requirements into practical cloud solutions covering infrastructure, applications, data, networking, and security.
- Advise customers on cloud security, networking, automation, reliability, scalability, and cost optimization.
- Guide adoption of AWS Well-Architected principles and cloud best practices.
- Identify technical risks, architectural gaps, and opportunities for modernization.
- Work collaboratively with AWS solution architects, engineers, security specialists, account teams, and other technical stakeholders.
- Provide technical guidance throughout solution design, implementation, migration, and adoption.
- Demonstrate cloud capabilities and emerging technologies through prototypes, demonstrations, and POCs.
- Help customers develop scalable cloud operating models and improve cloud adoption maturity.
- Communicate complex technical concepts and architectural decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Stay current with AWS services, cloud architecture patterns, security practices, and emerging technologies relevant to national security environments.

Requirements
\n

- Proven experience in cloud architecture, solutions consulting, solutions architecture, cloud engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Strong hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and cloud infrastructure.
- Experience designing secure and scalable AWS cloud architectures.
- Experience supporting cloud migration, modernization, or digital transformation initiatives.
- Strong understanding of cloud security, networking, infrastructure automation, identity and access management, and operational best practices.
- Experience conducting technical discovery sessions and translating customer requirements into architecture and solution designs.
- Demonstrated experience creating reference architectures, technical demonstrations, and proof-of-concept solutions.
- Strong customer-facing consulting and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work effectively with mission, engineering, cybersecurity, and business teams.
- Strong understanding of cloud cost optimization, scalability, availability, and performance.
- Excellent technical communication, presentation, and workshop facilitation skills.
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple customer and technical priorities.
- Experience supporting U.S. government, defense, intelligence, or national security customers is advantageous.
