Our challenge

\n

Our client is putting together a tiny team to build and ship UI quickly and needs a hands-on Lead UI Developer to drive it. You'll write most of the code yourself, own the front-end architecture, and keep a few developers moving in the same direction.

\n

AI coding tools (e.g. GitHub Copilot) are part of how this team works. We're looking for someone with hands-on, proven experience using these tools on real projects, who can show where they've helped deliver faster without lowering code quality.

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Dallas TX/ Pittsburgh, PA is $115k - $120k/year & benefits (see below).

\n

The Role

\n

Responsibilities:

\n

\n

    \n
  • Lead the design, build, testing and release of Angular and React applications, writing a large share of the code yourself
  • \n

  • Take UI features from rough requirements or designs to production in short build-and-feedback cycles
  • \n

  • Set front-end standards and reusable patterns, and keep them light enough that they don't slow a small team down
  • \n

  • Build reusable components and shared libraries that work across screens and projects
  • \n

  • Build responsive, accessible (WCAG/ARIA) and cross-browser interfaces
  • \n

  • Integrate with REST APIs and backend services, including error handling, authentication and loading states
  • \n

  • Keep applications fast: bundle size, lazy loading, rendering performance and change detection
  • \n

  • Work directly with the client, backend developers and designers, often without a separate BA or QA
  • \n

  • Review code, pair with the other developers and help them grow
  • \n

  • Write and maintain unit, integration and end-to-end tests, and keep CI/CD pipelines and quality checks in place
  • \n

  • Estimate work, flag risks early and plan in short cycles
  • \n

  • Troubleshoot production issues and find the root cause
  • \n

  • Use AI coding tools (e.g. GitHub Copilot) daily for coding, tests, refactoring, debugging and documentation
  • \n

  • Help the team use these tools well through shared prompts, reusable instructions and examples from the client's codebase
  • \n

  • Set review standards for AI-generated code, and make sure client code and data only go into approved tools
  • \n

\n

\n

Requirements:

\n

    \n
  • 7+ years building web applications, including at least 2 years leading UI work
  • \n

  • Strong hands-on experience with Angular (v14+) and React
  • \n

  • TypeScript, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5 and CSS3/SCSS
  • \n

  • Reactive programming with RxJS
  • \n

  • State management with NgRx or Redux
  • \n

  • Building reusable component libraries and front-end architecture shared by more than one app
  • \n

  • Responsive, accessible and cross-browser development
  • \n

  • Performance tuning: bundle size, lazy loading and rendering
  • \n

  • RESTful APIs, including authentication, pagination and error handling
  • \n

  • Unit and automated testing with Jasmine, Karma, Jest, Cypress or Playwright
  • \n

  • Git, CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions or similar) and code quality tools such as SonarQube
  • \n

  • Building and deploying front-end apps as containers on Red Hat OpenShift (OCP), on-premises
  • \n

  • Daily, hands-on use of AI coding tools (e.g. GitHub Copilot), including inline suggestions, chat and agent mode
  • \n

  • Good prompting habits, and a clear sense of where AI-written code goes wrong and needs review
  • \n

  • Agile/Scrum, and comfortable in a small team with short deadlines and changing priorities
  • \n

  • Clear communication and comfortable working directly with the client
  • \n

\n

\n

Preferred, but not required:

\n

    \n
  • Micro-frontends with Module Federation or similar
  • \n

  • Data grids and charting libraries (e.g. AG Grid, ECharts)
  • \n

  • Experience rolling out AI coding tools to a team
  • \n

  • Agent-based AI coding tools, custom instructions or MCP servers
  • \n

  • AI design-to-code tools
  • \n

  • Node.js
  • \n

  • OpenShift routes, config maps and Helm charts, or OpenShift Pipelines
  • \n

\n

\n

We offer:

\n

    \n
  • A highly competitive compensation and benefits package.
  • \n

  • A multinational organization with 60 offices in 20 countries and the possibility to work abroad.
