Engineering Analyst II – Data & Engineering Information

Role Overview
We are looking for an Engineering Analyst II to help manage and improve engineering data and documents for a large energy/pipeline organization. The main focus will be cleaning, organizing, validating, and migrating engineering drawings into structured systems so they are accurate, complete, and easy to find.


What You’ll Do

  • Review and organize large collections of engineering drawings and documents.
  • Identify and correct missing, inaccurate, or inconsistent data and metadata.
  • Classify drawings and place them into the correct asset hierarchy and document structure.
  • Support large-scale engineering drawing migration projects.
  • Perform data quality checks, identify duplicates and gaps, and validate migrated information.
  • Track migration progress and prepare data quality and status reports.
  • Work with Engineering, Operations, Drafting, Asset Management, IT, and external vendors to resolve data issues.
  • Help improve processes for engineering data turnover, document management, and data governance.
  • Support testing to ensure engineering information is searchable, accurate, and usable.


What We’re Looking For

  • 4+ years of experience in data governance, data management, data quality, or a related field.
  • Experience in the energy, utilities, or pipeline industry is preferred.
  • Understanding of data governance and data quality practices.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work with both technical and non-technical teams.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.


Nice to Have

  • Experience with pipeline/asset management systems, GIS, or engineering document management systems.
  • SharePoint experience.
  • PowerApps forms/workflows experience.
  • Power BI reporting experience.
  • Knowledge of Master Data Management (MDM).
  • Experience managing information related to critical or safety-sensitive infrastructure.


Education

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Management, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.

This role is for someone who can take large amounts of engineering drawings and asset data, clean and organize the information, move it into the correct system, and make sure engineers and operations teams can easily find and trust the information.
