Open Position Title: Senior Implementations Manager
We are seeking an experienced Senior Implementations Manager to join our Billing Operations team, focusing on the managing the successful deployment of our utility billing software solutions for electric, gas, water, trash, telecommunications, etc. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, project management skills, and deep understanding of utility business processes to ensure seamless system implementations that meet client requirements and industry standards.
Key ResponsibilitiesImplementation Leadership
- Manage and execute the implementations team
- Lead end-to-end implementation projects for utility billing software deployments
- Develop and execute detailed project plans, timelines, and resource allocation strategies
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams including development, QA, and client services
- Manage multiple concurrent implementations across various utility sectors
Technical Configuration
- Configure billing software to accommodate complex rate structures, tariffs, and regulatory requirements
- Coordinate customer information systems, billing calculation engines, and meter data management where needed
- Design and implement data migration strategies from legacy systems
- Perform system integration with existing client infrastructure including AMI, GIS, and ERP systems
Client Engagement
- Serve as primary technical point of contact throughout implementation lifecycle
- Conduct requirements gathering sessions and gap analysis workshops
- Lead system demonstrations and user acceptance testing coordination
- Provide comprehensive training to client staff on system functionality and best practices
Quality Assurance
- Develop and execute comprehensive testing protocols for billing accuracy
- Validate complex rate calculations and regulatory compliance features
- Ensure data integrity throughout migration and go-live processes
- Document configuration decisions and maintain implementation knowledge base
Required QualificationsTechnical Skills
- 6+ years experience with utility billing software implementations for multifamily real estate
- Strong SQL database skills and experience with data migration tools
- Proficiency in system integration methodologies and API configuration
- Experience with utility industry standards and protocols
Industry Knowledge
- Deep understanding of utility business processes and customer lifecycle management for multifamily real estate
- Knowledge of regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements (PUC, etc.)
- Familiarity with utility rate structures, tariffs, and billing methodologies
- Experience with meter reading processes and consumption calculation algorithms
Project Management
- Proven track record managing complex technical implementations
- Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience with project management tools and methodologies
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical capabilities
Communication & Interpersonal
- Exceptional client-facing communication and presentation skills
- Ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders
- Strong training and knowledge transfer capabilities
- Collaborative mindset with cross-functional team experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
- Professional certifications in relevant utility billing platforms
- Previous consulting or professional services experience
- Experience with Agile/Scrum project management methodologies
- Knowledge of utility industry trends including smart grid and distributed energy resources
