Reporting to Information Services leadership, IS Infrastructure Interns work alongside experienced IT professionals across multiple infrastructure disciplines. The team is responsible for maintaining and supporting the Company's technology environment, including end-user computing, service desk operations, networking, server administration, and cybersecurity. Many of Martin Marietta's leaders began their careers as interns, making this program an excellent pathway to future career opportunities within Information Services.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow and promote Martin Marietta's safety, environmental, and ethical standards in all work activities.
- Actively participate in company initiatives and support a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement.
- Provide technical support and assistance for hardware, software, and enterprise technology systems.
- Assist in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving IT incidents and service requests.
- Support infrastructure projects, system upgrades, technology deployments, and process improvement initiatives.
- Participate in documentation, asset management, and maintenance of IT operational procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business and technology objectives.
- Gain experience with enterprise technologies, systems administration tools, network infrastructure, and cybersecurity practices.
- Demonstrate initiative, professionalism, adaptability, and a strong work ethic while working independently and as part of a team.
- Perform all responsibilities in accordance with the Company's Mission, Vision, Values, policies, procedures, and Code of Ethical Business Conduct.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, information systems, cybersecurity, computer engineering, or a closely related field.
- Rising Junior or Senior preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and effectively manage multiple priorities.
- Strong customer service mindset and willingness to learn new technologies.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
- Must be available to work onsite at a Martin Marietta office location; this position is not remote.
