OneSparQ is looking for a Data Technician in Savannah, GA
Required Skills:
- 4+ years of hands-on structured cabling experience
- Advanced experience installing, terminating, testing, and troubleshooting both copper and fiber-optic cabling
- Strong knowledge of Cat5e/Cat6/Cat6A and fiber optic
- Experience routing cable through conduit, cable tray, above ceilings, between floors, and other pathways
- Ability to properly terminate, label, test, and document cabling installations
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve complex cabling issues
Additional Skills: (not requried)
- Previous experience serving as a lead technician, mentoring junior technicians, or coordinating field activities
- Data center experience: Hands-on experience supporting large-scale data center builds, expansions, data halls, MDF/IDF environments, fiber backbones, rack/cross-connect installations, or high-density structured cabling deployments.
- Advanced fiber/testing expertise: Experience with MPO/MTP fiber, OTDR testing, Fluke certification testing, fusion splicing, or advanced fiber troubleshooting.
Responsibiltiies:
- Lead and perform the installation, termination, testing, repair, and maintenance of copper and fiber-optic structured cabling systems
- Install cabling through conduit, cable tray, above ceilings, between floors, and other designated pathways according to project specifications
- Terminate and test copper and fiber connections to ensure proper performance and compliance with project requirements
- Troubleshoot complex cabling and connectivity issues and determine appropriate corrective actions
- Communicate project status, technical issues, and resolutions accurately and professionally to customers and management
- Identify recurring technical issues and recommend improvements to prevent future problems
