Job Title: Wire Harness Technician
Job Description
This role focuses on building custom wire harnesses and related electronic assemblies by cutting, stripping, crimping, soldering, and terminating wires based on detailed wire diagrams and schematics. You will assemble PCBAs and harnesses, work with military circular connectors, and verify that test fixtures and test boxes are safe before they move to the next stage of manufacturing in a dynamic start-up environment.
Responsibilities
- Build custom wire harnesses by cutting, stripping, crimping, soldering, and terminating wires according to wire diagrams and wiring schematics.
- Perform wire harness assembly and electronic assembly tasks, including PCBAs and harnesses, to meet manufacturing specifications and quality standards.
- Interpret drawings, blueprints, and schematics to accurately assemble harnesses and related components.
- Work with military circular connectors and other specialized connectors as required by project specifications.
- Use various fasteners and fastening tools to assemble and secure components in accordance with engineering requirements.
- Conduct manufacturing verification to ensure assemblies meet all technical and quality requirements.
- Build test fixtures and harnesses used for testing and verification of systems and components.
- Verify that each test box is safe to mate and operate before releasing it to the next department or stage in the process.
- Follow established procedures and best practices for soldering, crimping, and wiring to maintain consistent quality.
- Handle and move materials and assemblies, including lifting up to 50 lbs unassisted as needed in daily tasks.
Essential Skills
- At least 5 years of experience as a wire harness technician or master technician.
- Strong proficiency in building custom wire harnesses, including cutting, stripping, crimping, soldering, and terminating wires based on wire diagrams.
- Hands-on experience with wire harness assembly and electronic assembly.
- Ability to read and interpret wiring schematics, drawings, and blueprints.
- Experience working with military circular connectors.
- Ability to assemble PCBAs and harnesses to specification.
- Experience building test fixtures and harnesses for verification and testing.
- Capability to perform manufacturing verification to ensure product quality.
- Ability to use various fasteners and fastening tools safely and effectively.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted.
- Experience in avionics technician work or vehicle manufacturing environments.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Molex wire harness experience (considered a plus but not required).
- Experience in aviation, avionics, or related harness and wiring work.
- Exposure to start-up or fast-paced manufacturing environments.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety when verifying test boxes and assemblies.

Work Environment
The role is based in a start-up manufacturing environment focused on wire harness and electronic assembly. You will work with tools and equipment for cutting, stripping, crimping, soldering, fastening, and assembling harnesses, PCBAs, test fixtures, and test boxes. The setting is hands-on and fast-paced, with close collaboration across departments as products move through different stages of manufacturing and verification.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Torrance, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $59.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
