Prime Care Technologies, a leading Managed ervice rovider, is looking for a Linux System Administrator to join our talented group of engineers. This is a hybrid position from our office in Duluth, Georgia.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Linux Systems Administrator is responsible for ensuring the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the organization’s Linux-based systems and infrastructure. This includes deployment, configuration, monitoring, and maintenance of servers and critical services. Working under the supervision of the CTO, the administrator actively contributes to systems automation, performance tuning, security hardening, and documentation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Manage and maintain Linux environments (e.g., RHEL, Ubuntu, CentOS, Rocky Linux).
• Manage and maintain a KASM workspace environment.
• Automate routine tasks using scripting languages (Bash, Python, Ansible).
• Monitor system performance and ensure 24/7 reliability and availability of critical infrastructure.
• Implement and test backup and disaster recovery strategies.
• Apply patches, security updates, and kernel upgrades following best practices.
• Respond to and resolve incidents, service interruptions, and system anomalies.
• Ensure timely and effective resolution of customer requests and project tasks.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement long-term solutions.
• Collaborate with DevOps, Development, and Security teams to deploy and support containerized applications (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Document standard operating procedures and contribute to knowledge bases.
• Support security audits, system hardening, and compliance initiatives (e.g., SOC 2, HIPAA, PCI).
• Provide Tier 2/Tier 3 support and mentorship to junior technicians.
• Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES)
• Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; Bachelor’s preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in Linux system administration or support in a mid-to-large-scale production environment.
• Strong command-line expertise and shell scripting.
• Proficiency with system management tools (e.g., systemd, journalctl, cron).
• Solid understanding of networking protocols and services (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SSH, NFS).
• Experience with configuration management and automation tools (Ansible, Puppet, Terraform).
• Knowledge of containerization and virtualization technologies.
• Excellent diagnostic, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize, multitask, and manage time effectively in a dynamic environment.
TECHNICAL CERTIFICATIONS (PREFERRED)
• CompTIA Linux+
• Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)
• AWS Certified SysOps Administrator
• LPIC-1 or LPIC-2 (Linux Professional Institute)
