Job Description
Must Have:
\n
Strong hands-on experience in COBOL (preferably Enterprise COBOL / VS COBOL II).
\n
Strong hands-on experience in JCL.
\n
Working knowledge of Hogan core banking systems and their integration with COBOL/JCL mainframe applications.
\n
Mainframe environment expertise: z/OS, TSO/ISPF.
\n
File handling knowledge: VSAM, sequential files, SORT utilities (e.g., Syncsort/DFSORT).
\n
Solid debugging and incident resolution skills for batch processing and abends.
\n
Good understanding of SDLC (Waterfall/Agile) and production support processes.
\n
\n
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills:
\n
DB2 (SQL, SPUFI/QMF, stored procedures exposure is a plus).
\n
Online processing exposure: CICS (preferred), IMS (plus).
\n
Tools: File-Aid, Abend-AID, Expeditor/IBM Debugger.
\n
Version/Change management: Endevor, Changeman, PANVALET.
\n
Scheduling: Control-M or CA7.
\n
Mainframe modernization exposure (e.g., Micro Focus, migration, refactoring) is a plus.
\n
Banking domain experience (cards, loans, payments, deposits) preferred.
\n
\n
Key Responsibilities:
\n
Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications and solution designs.
\n
Develop, enhance, and maintain COBOL programs (batch and/or online).
\n
Create and modify JCL jobs, procedures, and utilities to support batch processing.
\n
Support, troubleshoot, and enhance mainframe applications and interfaces involving Hogan systems.
\n
Perform unit testing, support system/integration testing, and participate in implementation activities.
\n
Troubleshoot and resolve batch failures/job abends, performance issues, and production incidents within SLAs.
\n
Work with datasets and file processing involving VSAM and sequential files.
\n
Interact with DBAs/Support teams for DB2 (or other databases) access, SQL tuning, and issue resolution.
\n
Utilize scheduling and monitoring tools such as Control-M/CA7 (as applicable).
\n
Ensure adherence to coding standards, documentation practices, and change management processes (Endevor/Changeman/Git).
\n
Provide regular status updates and contribute to operational readiness and continuous improvements.
