Tree Top Staffing is partnering with an established precision manufacturer in DeLand, Florida, to hire a Senior Aerospace Quality Specialist who can add immediate depth in mechanical inspection, CMM programming, and AS9100 execution. The company produces complex components primarily for defense programs, along with commercial and other regulated applications.

This is a hands-on quality role, not a desk-only compliance position. The selected candidate will move between the inspection area, production floor, documentation, audits, and company leadership. The role reports directly to the company President and is intended to strengthen day-to-day quality execution while reducing the quality-system burden currently carried by ownership.

Key Responsibilities:
\n

- Perform or oversee incoming, first-piece, in-process, final, and first-article inspections.
- Program and operate CMM and advanced metrology equipment.
- Interpret complex engineering drawings, specifications, GD&T, and customer requirements.
- Prepare and review AS9102 first-article inspection reports and supporting documentation.
- Support, maintain, and improve the AS9100D quality-management system.
- Maintain inspection records, calibration controls, traceability, and measurement-system discipline.
- Support internal, customer, registrar, and regulatory audits.
- Lead or support nonconformance control, containment, root-cause analysis, and corrective action.
- Work directly with machinists and programmers to resolve dimensional and process-related issues.
- Teach and reinforce practical quality expectations across the production team.

Required Qualifications:
\n

- Senior-level aerospace quality capability, typically developed through seven or more years of progressively responsible experience or an equivalent level of demonstrated expertise.
- Direct, hands-on experience supporting and improving an AS9100 quality-management system.
- Hands-on experience programming and operating CMM equipment.
- Advanced blueprint-reading and GD&T interpretation skills.
- Experience performing complex mechanical inspection in precision aerospace, defense, or similarly demanding regulated manufacturing.
- Strong command of AS9102 first-article inspection, precision measurement, calibration, and measurement traceability.
- Working knowledge of nonconformance control, containment, root-cause analysis, and corrective-action processes.
- Ability to work independently, communicate effectively across departments, and influence quality without relying on title alone.
- Commitment to accurate documentation, customer requirements, and continuous improvement.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience supporting internal, customer, or registrar audits.
- AS9100 internal-auditor or lead-auditor training.
- Experience with ProShop ERP or a comparable manufacturing ERP and quality-management platform.
- Experience mentoring inspectors or teaching production personnel about quality requirements.
- Experience improving quality systems within a small or midsize aerospace and defense machine shop.

Schedule and Compensation:
\n
This is a full-time, onsite position in DeLand, Florida. The position will generally work four 10-hour first shifts from approximately 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The schedule may run Monday through Thursday or Tuesday through Friday, with the specific weekday assignment confirmed during the interview process. Weekends are off.
\n
Target base compensation is approximately $41 to $50 per hour when structured hourly, or $85,000 to $105,000 annually when structured as a salary. Final compensation and pay structure will depend on the selected candidate's experience, capabilities, and responsibilities. Overtime may be available as workload permits for eligible hourly employees.
