The Lead Architect plays a pivotal role in guiding the design and execution of commercial projects within a small dedicated team. Reporting directly to the Chief Architect, this position requires expertise in project planning, technical drawing interpretation, and model design, leveraging BIM and CAD software to deliver high-quality architectural solutions. The Lead Architect ensures adherence to safety and quality standards while collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams and occasionally traveling for project reviews to provide on-site leadership and oversight.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage detailed project plans for commercial builds
- Create and refine architectural models using BIM and CAD software
- Interpret technical drawings and construction schematics accurately
- Coordinate work orders and ensure quality assurance throughout project phases
- Ensure strict compliance with safety standards and policies
- Collaborate effectively with engineering, design teams, and other stakeholders
- Conduct occasional travel for on-site project reviews and coordination
- Lead construction coordination efforts and problem-solving initiatives
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in architecture, particularly commercial projects
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or a related field
- Licensed Architect credential
- Proficient in technical drawing interpretation and project planning
- Advanced skills in Building Information Modeling (BIM) and CAD software
- Strong problem-solving ability and team collaboration skills
- Effective time management and commitment to safety compliance
