Job Description
Job Description
Metro Star is seeking an experienced Director of Technology to serve as the company's sole technology resource across all divisions. This is a hands-on, individual-contributor role — there is no supporting IT staff or team to manage — and covers the company's technology infrastructure end to end, from the accounting and property management systems that run the business, to the hardware and networks in our offices and properties, to the public-facing website that represents our brand.
You will be the go-to resource for troubleshooting business-critical software, sourcing and deploying hardware, and keeping our web presence current, while also setting the technology direction for the company as it continues to grow.
Key Responsibilities
• Serve as the sole technology resource for Metro Star and its affiliated divisions, owning IT strategy, priorities, and standards independently
• Provide general troubleshooting and support for accounting and property management software, including Yardi systems, ensuring data flows accurately between platforms
• Source, purchase, and install computer hardware and networking equipment across all company divisions and property locations
• Design, edit, and maintain the company's website library using Replit, ensuring content stays current, secure, and fully functional
• Support and administer Microsoft software and operating systems (Windows, Windows Server, Microsoft 365/Office) across the organization
• Manage network infrastructure, including Wi-Fi, servers, firewalls, and remote access, for corporate and property office locations
• Administer and support the company's Microsoft Teams phone system, including user setup, call routing, and troubleshooting
• Establish and maintain data security, backup, and disaster recovery protocols to protect company and resident data
• Manage relationships and contracts with technology vendors, including internet service providers, software vendors, and outside IT support
• Provide hands-on help desk support to staff across divisions, resolving hardware, software, and connectivity issues
• Oversee property-level security and access technology (cameras, keyless entry systems, etc.) where applicable
• Develop and manage the annual technology budget, evaluating cost-effective solutions for the company's needs
• Train staff on new systems, software updates, and cybersecurity best practices
• Maintain clear documentation of IT systems, configurations, and procedures
• Evaluate emerging technology and recommend improvements to increase efficiency company-wide
Salary commensurate to experience.
