About the Role

Lumbridge Consulting is seeking an IT Support Specialist to provide hands-on, on-site technology support for a client in Westmont, Illinois. This person will serve as a primary point of contact for employees who need technical assistance and will also work alongside the IT team to support day-to-day IT operations, projects, and technical initiatives.

The ideal candidate is comfortable working directly with end users, independently troubleshooting common technology issues, and recognizing when more complex issues should be escalated.

Responsibilities
\n

- Provide day-to-day, on-site IT support to employees
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, workstation, printer, and connectivity issues
- Support Microsoft 365 and common workplace applications
- Assist with password resets, account lockouts, permissions, and user access
- Set up, configure, and deploy computers and other end-user devices
- Assist with employee onboarding and offboarding
- Troubleshoot basic network and connectivity issues
- Document support requests, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions
- Maintain and update IT documentation and procedures
- Assist the IT Directors with ongoing IT operations, projects, system changes, and technology rollouts
- Coordinate with managed service providers, technology vendors, and other IT resources as needed
- Support Microsoft 365, SharePoint, cybersecurity, and endpoint-related initiatives as directed
- Escalate complex infrastructure, networking, server, or cybersecurity issues appropriately

Required Qualifications
\n
- \n
- Previous experience in IT support, help desk, desktop support, or a similar technical support role
- Experience troubleshooting Windows computers and common end-user technology issues
- Working knowledge of Microsoft 365
- Basic Active Directory experience, including user accounts, password resets, and access management
- Understanding of basic networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP
- Experience setting up and configuring computers and end-user devices
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Strong written documentation skills
- Clear communication and customer-service skills
- Ability to work independently while knowing when to escalate an issue
- Ability to work on-site in Westmont, Illinois

Preferred / Helpful Experience

- Microsoft 365 administration
- SharePoint administration or support
- Windows Server and Group Policy (GPO)
- Networking experience with switches, routers, firewalls, VLANs, or VPNs
- Endpoint security tools and practices
- Backup and disaster recovery
- Basic PowerShell or scripting
- Experience working with an MSP or coordinating with outside technology vendors
- Experience supporting IT projects, system migrations, or technology rollouts
- CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft, Cisco, or similar certifications
