Summary
The Assistant Construction Project Manager will assist in planning, directing, and coordinating activities pertaining to the construction and maintenance of solar projects in accordance with company policies and governmental regulations.
Job Responsibilities
- Work with Project Management team to organize, plan, direct, coordinate, and report onsite construction activities to the project manager.
- Assists in leading the construction effort from estimating, management, and scheduling.
- Assists project managers with all subcontractor communications and purchase order needs.
- Help maintain quality relationships with utility companies and provide timely communication regarding schedules, inspections, energization, and interconnections.
- Willingness to read, interpret, and understand all project documentation such as insurance, permitting, and project scheduling.??
- Develop preliminary schedule and facilitate scheduling standards throughout the course of the project.
- Develop and implement the work breakdown structure.
- Assist in the development of baseline and proposal/bid schedules.
- Support supervision through the preparation, monitoring, and updating of schedules, and assist site management to formulate action plans to correct scheduling problems.
- Draft and input schedule activities utilizing PM, monitoring, and eliminating potential problems.
- Review any scheduling issues with site staff and determine necessary modifications, re-sequencing schedules when conflicts arise, and updating the PM as required by project specifications and contract requirements.
- Create reports for project team within Procore, including the inclusion of data into the corporate reporting procedures.
- Build relationships with internal and external project team members, communicating both successes and concerns regarding schedule.
- Assess impact of design/construction changes and communicate the issues with project stakeholders, executives, and leadership team.
- Analyze acceleration options and recommend the best cost, lowest risk option.
- Act as a trouble shooter on current projects.
- Assist managers in cost savings through vendor negotiations, market analysis, and eliminating waste.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position assists managers with all subcontractors and direct employees of the department.
Requirements:
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to frequently inspect the project and will be exposed to ongoing construction and various weather conditions.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position and will require longer hours and frequent weekend work.
Travel
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or a related field
- One year minimum of experience in related field?
- Proficiency with reading blueprints, plans, specs, contracts, subcontracts, and purchase orders?
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
- Proficiency with Procore or other construction management software
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
- Experience working in solar construction
- Experience with MS Projects
