Job Description

Job DescriptionAs Design Engineer you will be responsible for executing design and R&D, and continuous improvement projects at the direction of your Supervisor. This will include: creating and maintaining CAD models and product data; analyzing designs for strength, function, and manufacturability; assisting manufacturing with the implementation of new designs; assisting manufacturing and quality with product improvements; design and implementation of inspection and assembly fixtures; and any other tasks assigned by your Supervisor.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • 3D Modeling, Design, and Development for new and existing products
  • Write and update production procedures to be used by manufacturing
  • Perform engineering and failure analysis tests as required
  • Assemble prototypes and fixtures to technical drawings
  • Assist in design, setup/assembly, and programming of test equipment
  • Assist in quality inspections and root cause analysis
  • Assist in managing technical information in ERP system
  • Completes tasks as directed by Supervisor with minimum supervision


Job Requirements:

  • 2+ years of Engineering Design experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Attention to detail and Expert Mechanical Ability
  • Analytical, problem solving, time management, and decision-making skills
  • Demonstrate teamwork, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to effectively use quality control instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges, CMM)
  • Ability to interpret assembly drawings, schematics, and procedures
  • Knowledge and experience with hands-on projects
  • Experienced in CAD and basic FEA (NX preferred)
  • Experienced in ERP Systems (Netsuite preferred)
  • Knowledgeable and skilled with basic test equipment
  • Understanding of basic mechanical and electrical principles and their practical applications
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment with excellent ability to multi-task
