We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Tower Technician to join our growing telecommunications team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of telecommunication equipment, including radio frequency (RF) systems, cellular towers, and related infrastructure. This role requires working at elevated heights and in various field environments to ensure communication systems operate efficiently and reliably.

Key Responsibilities:

Installation & Maintenance:

  • Install and maintain telecommunications equipment on cell towers, including antennas, radios, cables, and supporting structures.
  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on RF systems, towers, and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair RF systems, antennas, cabling, and tower-related issues.
  • Test and verify RF signals, ensuring proper signal strength and performance.
  • Assist with system upgrades, decommissioning of outdated equipment, and tower modification projects.

Safety Compliance:

  • Adhere to all safety guidelines, industry regulations, and company standards while working at heights or around hazardous equipment.
  • Use proper safety equipment such as harnesses, helmets, and fall arrest systems.
  • Conduct safety audits and participate in safety meetings as required.
  • RF Systems & Testing.

Skills

  • Knowledge of antenna systems, transmission lines, and wireless technologies.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure in challenging environments.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work at heights of up to 40ft to 200ft or more.
  • Ability to lift heavy equipment (up to 60 pounds) and perform manual labor.
  • Comfortable working in various weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, or rain.
  • Physical ability to climb towers 40ft to 200ft.

Working Conditions:

  • The position requires travel to various job sites, often remote or on challenging terrain.
  • Flexibility in working hours, including occasional weekends or nights, may be required based on project timelines or emergencies.
  • Willing to travel out of town.
