We are looking for a Systems Administrator to support and strengthen a technology environment within the financial services industry in Moline, Illinois. This contract-to-permanent opportunity is ideal for someone who can manage core infrastructure, respond to technical issues, and contribute to secure, reliable day-to-day operations. The role requires a hands-on, detail-oriented individual who can troubleshoot across multiple platforms, adapt to evolving tools, and work effectively with teammates while maintaining clear technical documentation.
Responsibilities:
• Administer and support core enterprise systems, including Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft 365, and Azure services.
• Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot virtual and end-user computing environments such as VMware vSphere and Citrix XenDesktop to ensure stable performance.
• Investigate and resolve infrastructure, access, and security-related issues through service desk ticketing systems while providing timely updates to stakeholders.
• Assist with backup, recovery, and storage operations by working with platforms such as Rubrik and enterprise storage solutions to protect business-critical data.
• Manage certificate-related tasks and contribute to the secure administration of network, server, and cloud-connected resources.
• Support financial systems and related operational technologies, ensuring dependable availability and effective issue resolution.
• Use monitoring tools, including Site24x7 or similar platforms, to identify system health concerns and respond before they impact users or services.
• Create and maintain technical documentation for configurations, troubleshooting steps, and standard support procedures to improve team knowledge sharing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement system improvements, support infrastructure changes, and learn new technologies as business needs evolve.
• 3+ years of experience in systems administration or infrastructure support roles.
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience with relevant technologies such as Windows Server, Active Directory, VMware, Citrix, or Microsoft Exchange.
• Practical understanding of Microsoft 365 and Azure administration in a business environment.
• Ability to diagnose technical problems across servers, user access, virtualization, and cloud-connected systems.
• Experience working with service desk or ticket management platforms such as Zendesk or similar tools.
• Strong written communication skills with the ability to document technical processes and support activities clearly.
• Detail-oriented certifications such as Security+, Network+, or other recognized IT credentials are preferred.
• Ability to work collaboratively, adapt to new technologies quickly, and support secure operations in a regulated or business-critical environment.
