Job Title: Hardware Technician / Electromechanical Technician
Job Description
This role focuses on assembling, testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining advanced electromechanical machinery and hardware systems in a fast-paced manufacturing and development environment. You will work closely with engineering teams to build, improve, and validate innovative products, applying strong mechanical and electrical skills to produce high-quality assemblies and reliable systems. The position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, precision mechanical assembly, electrical wiring, system troubleshooting, and working with clear technical documentation.
Responsibilities
- Assemble, test, and maintain electromechanical equipment and systems to meet performance and quality standards.
- Perform electrical wiring, crimping, soldering, cable routing, and harness assembly with a focus on precision and reliability.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, electrical schematics, and detailed work instructions to execute builds accurately.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and integrated system issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
- Support equipment setup, operation, and routine maintenance, contributing to continuous improvement activities on the production floor.
- Document work performed, test results, and process changes or improvements in a clear and organized manner.
- Collaborate with engineering teams on prototype builds, testing, and product development initiatives, providing hands-on technical support.
- Follow established procedures and standards while actively identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and reliability.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and productive work environment, adhering to safety guidelines and best practices at all times.
Essential Skills
- At least 3 years of experience in mechanical assembly and precision fitting of electromechanical components and systems.
- At least 3 years of experience in electrical wiring, crimping, soldering, and cable harness assembly.
- At least 3 years of experience reading and interpreting electrical schematics and related technical documentation.
- At least 2 years of experience troubleshooting electromechanical systems, including mechanical, electrical, and integrated issues.
- Strong hands-on skills in electromechanical, automation, and robotics environments.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and resolving issues in electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to follow detailed work instructions and engineering documentation with high attention to detail.
- Comfort working in research and development (R&D) settings, supporting testing and iterative improvements.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with CAD software such as OnShape, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar tools.
- Experience in textile manufacturing or weaving equipment is highly beneficial.
- Exposure to textile machinery and related hardware systems.
- Experience with test automation, including test stand and fixture development.
- Hands-on involvement in prototype builds and validation activities.
- Familiarity with documenting test procedures, results, and process improvements.

Work Environment
The role is based in a fast-paced manufacturing and development setting, working directly with advanced electromechanical equipment, automation systems, robotics, and hydraulic components. You will regularly use tools and equipment for precision mechanical assembly, electrical wiring, soldering, and cable harness fabrication, as well as computers for reading engineering drawings, electrical schematics, and CAD models. Work involves supporting prototype builds, test automation setups, and textile machinery, with a strong emphasis on safety, organization, and productivity. The environment promotes structured procedures, clear documentation, and close collaboration with engineering teams throughout the product development and testing lifecycle.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Emeryville, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $46.00/hr.
