Role Description The Project Estimator Commercial Flooring role is a full-time hybrid position based in the San Francisco Bay Area, with a combination of on-site work and some work from home. Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing project plans and specifications, performing detailed quantity takeoffs, and preparing accurate cost estimates for commercial flooring projects. The estimator will analyze labor, materials, and subcontractor pricing, develop competitive bids, and support budgeting and value engineering efforts. This role involves collaborating with project managers, sales teams, and clients to clarify scope, resolve discrepancies, and provide timely pricing updates. The estimator will also maintain estimating databases, track historical costs, and help improve processes to support profitable, on-time project delivery.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong Project Estimation and Construction Estimating skills, with experience in commercial flooring or related construction trades.
  • \n

  • Candidates should possess Cost Management and Budgeting skills to develop accurate bids, track costs, and support financial planning for projects.
  • \n

  • Candidates should possess effective Communication skills to collaborate with internal teams, clients, and vendors, and to present estimates clearly and professionally.
  • \n

  • Proficiency with estimating software, spreadsheets, and digital takeoff tools; ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • \n

  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • \n

  • Experience in commercial construction or flooring projects; knowledge of materials, installation methods, and industry standards is highly beneficial.
  • \n

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
