Moretto USA is the U.S. headquarters of an internationally recognized manufacturer serving the plastics processing industry. With a unique and highly respected product portfolio, continued sales growth, and a collaborative team environment, we are seeking an Applications Engineer to support customer projects from concept through quotation and project handoff.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys combining engineering, customer interaction, system design, and technical sales support in a fast-paced and growing organization.
What You'll Do
- Partner with Regional Sales Managers to evaluate customer opportunities and develop technical solutions.
- Review customer requirements, process information, plant layouts, and RFQs.
- Size and configure equipment based on customer applications and operating requirements.
- Create equipment layouts and technical drawings using AutoCAD.
- Develop tubing and piping layouts, material take-offs, and installation requirements.
- Prepare detailed quotations that include equipment, components, vendor-supplied items, and associated costs.
- Coordinate with vendors to obtain technical information and pricing.
- Work closely with engineering and product teams located at company headquarters in Italy.
- Support customer meetings, project reviews, and handoff activities with Project Managers.
- Manage multiple projects and customer requests while maintaining accuracy and responsiveness.
What We're Looking For
- Associate degree in Engineering, mechanical technology, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Experience interpreting process requirements, layouts, drawings, or manufacturing systems.
- AutoCAD proficiency required.
- Ability to work directly with customers, vendors, and internal teams.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; CRM experience is a plus.
- Ability to travel occasionally as needed.
