Project Manager – Electrical Construction

Location: West Sacramento, CA (On-site)

Job Description

We're seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead large-scale electrical construction projects from planning through closeout. This role is responsible for delivering projects safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with all applicable codes and regulations.

The ideal candidate has experience managing complex electrical construction projects in data center, healthcare, mission-critical, or commercial environments and thrives in a fast-paced setting where leadership, financial management, and stakeholder communication are critical to success.

Compensation

$114,000 - $149,000 annually

What You'll Accomplish

  • Lead planning, execution, and delivery of complex electrical construction projects.
  • Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, forecasting, and resource allocation.
  • Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Oversee project financials, including billings, profit projections, cost controls, and change orders.
  • Evaluate, negotiate, and manage change orders and contract modifications.
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, electrical codes, regulations, and company standards.
  • Lead and mentor project teams, including field foremen and support staff.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and stakeholders.
  • Maintain project documentation, reporting, and document control processes.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence efforts.
  • Drive project profitability while maintaining quality, safety, and client satisfaction.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for a construction leader with a proven track record of delivering complex electrical projects while balancing operational execution, financial performance, and client satisfaction.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of electrical project management experience.
  • Proven success delivering large-scale, complex electrical construction projects.
  • Experience managing projects in data centers, healthcare, mission-critical, commercial, or similar environments.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical construction methods, codes, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, change orders, RFIs, and contract management.
  • Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency with project management software and construction management tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing electrical infrastructure projects involving UPS systems, generators, switchgear, and power distribution.
  • Experience within healthcare facilities or other highly regulated construction environments.
  • Experience leading or participating in continuous improvement initiatives such as JDI, RIE, or A3 methodologies.
  • Experience collaborating with finance teams on invoicing, collections, and construction financial reporting.
  • Ability to identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality and compliance.

Work Environment

This position combines office-based project management with regular interaction across active construction projects. The role requires close collaboration with field teams, subcontractors, suppliers, clients, operations, and finance teams while managing multiple complex projects simultaneously.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $114000.00 - $149000.00/yr.
