About the Role
Join the Client as a Senior Database Administrator, supporting critical application migration, modernization, and ongoing system reliability. As a key member of our IT team, you'll drive high-impact projects and ensure data integrity for essential state operations—all while working remotely within South Carolina.

Responsibilities

- Lead database migration and modernization initiatives for state applications
- Manage, optimize, and maintain database performance and security
- Provide day-to-day support for existing database systems
- Implement robust backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues efficiently
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment
- Document processes and maintain up-to-date technical records

Required Skills and Experience

- Advanced proficiency in database administration (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL)
- Strong experience with database security, backup, and recovery
- Proven expertise in performance tuning and troubleshooting
- Experience supporting application migrations and upgrades
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Must be a resident of South Carolina

Preferred Skills

- Experience with cloud-based database platforms
- Familiarity with automation tools for database management
- Knowledge of state or government IT environments
