Column Technical Services in hiring a driven Technical Project Manager in Chicago who can lead cross-functional teams, collaborate directly with clients, and bring clarity to every stage of the project lifecycle. As a Project Manager in a technical field, you will lead initiatives from concept to completion, ensuring alignment with client goals and organizational standards. You'll work closely with external clients and internal teams to drive collaboration, clarity, and consistent delivery across multiple projects.
Please note: Candidates must reside in the Chicagoland area to accommodate occasional onsite meetings and team collaborations.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategize, define, and develop requirements for scheduled technical projects
- Manage end-to-end project lifecycles in collaboration with external clients
- Facilitate routine technical team meetings to assess progress and overcome challenges
- Clarify project objectives, define individual roles, and assign responsibilities across teams
- Oversee project timelines across diverse clients and report updates to key stakeholders
- Implement and maintain standardized documentation and processes to support business operations
Required Experience, Skills & Education
- 2-4 years of technical project management experience
- Bachelor's degree strongly preferred
- Project Management certification from an accredited institution preferred
- AWS certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect Associate or other Associate-level credentials (Developer or SysAdmin), or willingness to obtain within 45 days
- Solid understanding of project management strategies, methodologies, and workflows
- Skilled in task delegation and cross-functional team coordination
- Familiarity with managing the ripple effects of technical delays
- Strong time management and organizational capabilities, with experience developing best practices for others
- High level of accountability in leadership and decision-making
- Proven success in collaborative environments with a strong emphasis on teamwork
- Exceptional analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Proactive approach to anticipating and addressing project challenges
