Entry-Level AI Generative Engineer — Job Description

Role: AI Generative Engineer / GenAI Developer – Entry Level

Experience: 1–4 years

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and test applications using Python and Generative AI technologies.
• Work with LLMs such as GPT, Llama, Gemini, or similar models.
• Create and optimize prompts for different business use cases.
• Build basic RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) applications.
• Work with APIs, embeddings, vector databases, and AI frameworks.
• Write SQL queries to retrieve, analyze, and manipulate data.
• Clean, transform, and prepare data using Python.
• Develop basic automation scripts and data-processing pipelines.
• Test AI-generated outputs and improve accuracy and reliability.
• Collaborate with senior developers/data scientists to build AI solutions.
• Debug Python code and troubleshoot application issues.
• Document code, experiments, and technical solutions.

Required Skills

• Strong fundamentals in Python.
• Good understanding of SQL — SELECT, JOIN, GROUP BY, subqueries, CTEs, and window functions.
• Basic knowledge of Machine Learning and AI concepts.
• Understanding of Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs).
• Familiarity with REST APIs and JSON.
• Basic knowledge of Git/GitHub.
• Problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Willingness to learn new AI tools and technologies.

Good-to-Have Skills

• LangChain or LlamaIndex
• OpenAI/Gemini/Claude APIs
• Hugging Face
• Pandas and NumPy
• FastAPI or Flask
• Vector databases such as FAISS, Chroma, Pinecone, or similar
• Cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Basic knowledge of Docker
• Knowledge of RAG, embeddings, fine-tuning, and AI agents
