Position Overview:

\n

Our client is a specialty structural glass design, engineering and manufacturing company that serves the needs of progressive architecture and building industry professionals on some of the most unique and challenging structural glass projects in the world.

\n


\n

They are currently looking to expand their Project Management department, and are looking for a highly experienced Senior Project Manager with significant expertise in the manufacturing of metal components, and deep experience planning, controlling, communicating and managing all project resources and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

\n

The Senior Project Manager will manage projects from beginning to end of the project lifecycle, coordinating directly with the Sales team, clients (architects, contractors & installers), and the Engineering and Design, Procurement, Finance, and Manufacturing teams. Oversight includes client approval, fabrication, assembly, and installation of specialty structural glass systems. Occasional travel is required for this role.

The projects you work on will be unique, and you will be responsible for several projects at a time. You will ensure complete and timely adherence to project schedule, scope, costs and have impeccable organizational skills. You are a quick learner, and can quickly become familiar with the work processes, standards of practice, and design technology used in engineering these structures.

This is a dynamic, challenging opportunity to lead the delivery of structural glass projects as part of a matrixed, multi-disciplinary team. In this role, you will report to the Project Executive and will closely collaborate with other members of the Project Management team who have deep industry experience.

\n

You should be a self-motivated professional with 10+ years of progressive experience leading complex manufacturing projects. This is a full-time, onsite position with ample room for learning, development and professional growth for those who demonstrate the desire and ability to work hard, adapt and learn the complexities involved in the structural glass industry and custom fabrication.

\n


\n

Responsibilities:

\n

    \n
  • Internal/external coordination of projects from beginning to end, through design, approval, procurement, fabrication and installation
  • \n

  • Contract language negotiation, in coordination with Project Executive/Director of Finance/Legal
  • \n

  • Anticipate, manage and communicate customer expectations
  • \n

  • Review contract documents & internal drawings for coordination of contracted scope
  • \n

  • Monitoring performance against budget
  • \n

  • Project plan creation, maintenance and scheduling
  • \n

  • Project file maintenance and upkeep
  • \n

  • Inspection of and coordination with the shop on metal, aluminum and stainless steel parts fabricated in-house
  • \n

  • Coordinate schedules with Procurement and Client for all project materials
  • \n

  • Convey and document installation methods to glaziers installing the product
  • \n

  • Physical sample & tech data/warranty submissions
  • \n

  • Manage project close-out and issue warranty documentation
  • \n

Required Skills & Experience:

\n

    \n
  • Minimum of 10 years progressive Project Management experience in manufacturing, with exposure to the commercial construction industry. Experience with glass/glazing and the architectural industry experience is a huge plus
  • \n

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience with steel, stainless steel and/or aluminum manufacturing, as well as QC experience in the manufacturing sector
  • \n

  • Excellent proficiency with MS Office, MS Project and AutoCAD
  • \n

  • Solid understanding of construction terms, estimating, purchasing, scheduling & planning concepts
  • \n

  • Ability to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, & scopes of work
  • \n

  • Excellent business judgement, demonstrated by consistently achieving profitability objectives & strong project closeouts
  • \n

  • Track record of keeping client and subcontractor relationships in good standing
  • \n

  • Ability to multitask and handle competing priorities between business needs, organizational issues and sound customer relations
  • \n

  • Possess judgment to know when to appropriately escalate issues up the chain of command
  • \n

  • Strong sense of urgency and initiative
  • \n

  • Team player who works exceptionally well in a matrixed team environment
  • \n

  • Consistency and impeccable attention to detail

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Degree in Engineering, Construction, Manufacturing or an applicable discipline
  • \n

  • Project Management Professional Certification (PMP)
  • \n

  • Knowledge of Project Management tools and technologies
  • \n
