At F1 Technology Group we are seeking a Sr. IT Technical Consultant/Senior Systems Administrator to join our growing team!
- We are looking for a high-level technician that is experienced in:
- Networking (switch configuration, VLANs, routing, monitoring tools, etc.)
- Firewall (configuration, rules, etc.)
- Systems Administration (Azure, Windows Server setup/troubleshooting, SharePoint)
- SAN/NAS (storage configuration, troubleshooting, etc)
- Backups (Veeam/Datto, best practices, etc)
- This role is a technical role so you will be responsible for both designing and implementing technology while maintaining a high level of customer communication.
- This role is responsible for the entire project life cycle from the initial design, proposal, meetings, and implementation as well as be an escalation point for other technical staff.
- This is not a remote position.

Responsibilities:
- Oversee the installation and analysis of operating systems, network systems, software, and hardware
- Strategic consulting with clients and team to improve system/business efficiency by consulting with end users and providing innovative solutions
- Design, implement, and support server architecture including: Windows Server, SQL, VMWare, etc.
- Design, implement, and support network architecture: WAN and LAN connectivity, routers, firewalls (Sonicwall and Meraki), and security.
- Monitor system operations to detect potential problems and design, implement, and support disaster recovery solutions
- Design and present client proposals
- Implement network systems to support communication between all departments
- Provide quality assurance review of new and existing software products
- Communicate effectively with C-level and business owners
- Ability to work independently and direct a team of technicians
- System documentation maintenance and recommendations.
- Communication with customers as required: keeping them informed of incident progress, notifying them of impending changes, and agreed outages.
Additional Functions:
- Improve customer service, perception, and satisfaction.
- Fast turnaround of customer requests.
- Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively.
- Maintain specific knowledge of the customer and how IT relates to their business strategy and goals.
- Develop in-depth knowledge of the service catalog and how it relates to customer’s needs.
- Document internal processes and procedures related to duties and responsibilities.
- Work with the Service Desk Dispatcher to ensure requests are routed to the proper resource in order to be resolved quickly and efficiently.
- Ability to be a technical resource for escalated tickets and provide assistance to team members
- Work through a daily schedule that has been established through the dispatch process.
- Responsible for entering time and expenses as they occur.
- Participate in on call rotation.
- Review IT publications and online materials to remain up-to-date with current and future technologies emerging in the industry.
Qualifications:
- Advanced understanding of operating systems, business applications, printing systems, and network systems.
- Interpersonal skills: such as telephony skills, communication skills, active listening and customer-care.
- Diagnosis skills of technical issues.
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task and adapt to changes quickly.
- Deadline and detail oriented
- Technical awareness: ability to match resources to technical issues appropriately.
- Service awareness of all organization’s key services for which support is being provided.
- Understanding of support tools, techniques, and how technology is used to provide services.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-moving environment.
Education:
- BA in Computer Science, Information Technology
- Azure, Cisco, Microsoft, VMware (industry standard) certifications are a preferred
- 7 years of IT or related experience.
