Job DescriptionJob Title: Automation Test Engineer – SQL
Location: Tampa (preference), Jersey/Boston – Hybrid
Duration: 6 Months (CTH)
Shift Schedule: Monday – Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Employment Type : Contract to hirePrimary Responsibilities
- Contribute expertise in the application of different software development and testing methodologies, tools, and technologies
- Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated tests across the delivery lifecycle
- Contribute to the design of the automation framework and enhancement
- Maintain traceability from user stories through test cases to automated scripts
- Identify dependencies, define, and communicate environmental and data requirements
- Research and evaluate technical solutions consistent with technology standards
- Align risk and control processes into day-to-day responsibilities to monitor and mitigate risk; escalates appropriately
- Partner with team members to understand software requirements and design automated tests that validate the functionality while considering privacy and security requirements
- Create applications and construct unit test cases that ensure compliance with functional requirements
- Work with peers to mature ways of working to implement and maintain continuous testing within the software delivery processes and integrate automated test with CI/CD pipeline
- Collaborate with internal and external teams on development, testing, troubleshooting, and improve overall software quality
Qualifications
- Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in software testing, test automation, or SDET roles
Tools & Platforms
- Experience with AWS cloud services
- Proficiency with JIRA, Microfocus ALM, Bitbucket, Git, and Jenkins
- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automated testing integration
Talent Needed for Success
- Strong proficiency in test automation frameworks and tools (e.g., Selenium, TestNG, JUnit, Jasmine)
- Hands-on experience with Java, Python, or JavaScript for automation and scripting
- Advanced experience with SQL and database testing
- Expertise in ETL testing and automation
- Experience with front-end and back-end testing using Java and Selenium
- Familiarity with performance and security testing concepts
- Experience testing Business Intelligence platforms such as Power BI or AWS QuickSight (preferred)
- Experience with Snowflake data warehouse is an added advantage
- Understanding of smoke, functional, regression, and non–black box testing techniques
